Giovanni Smooth As Silk Deep Moisture Shampoo, 33.8 Fluid Ounce

I really love this Giovanni. It works great in my hair and isn't made of harsh chemicals. I will still give 5 stars because it really is great stuff for your hair BUT the one I received smelt very off. I really don't feel like returning it because it doesn't smell when I rinse it and after I shower. It's just too bad my hair then doesn't smell good like the scent I know it smells like after, it just smells neutral. I really liked this one for not only how soft your hair feels, but how good it smells and I got one that was weird. Maybe it was just that bottle. I really hope so. We'll see then next one I buy on here. Won't be for a little bit because these pump bottles lasts so long (another reason why I love this).

This is my "clean" replacement for my favorite Pantene Classic conditioner and shampoo. Been using for the last year. I also use the Giovanni 50/50 shampoo (very gentle like baby shampoo without the junk...also good for handwashing). And just discovered Giovanni 2 Chic Ultra Sleek Soft Hold Styling Gel (to replace my Keune gel). The gel doesn't get flaky on you.Most conditioners (even the organic and health food store varieties) are for dry, or oily hair. And, are marketed for people with chemically treated hair (perms, coloring).I have super healthy, thick, black, straight Asian hair. I only need to wash it a couple times a week (depending on if there's styling products I need to wash out). This conditioner is very light with just the right amount of moisture so your hair is soft, silky and swings nicely. I could easily use it daily if I needed to.It will not weigh down natural Asian hair and make it look lifeless and dull. For everyone else, I think it's a good "daily" conditioner if you have healthy hair.Love the pump (those who use the smaller bottle know what a pain it is to squeeze it out). Warning...it's a giant bottle at 13.5 inches tall.Giovanni doesn't have all the horrible chemicals that mass market hair products have. I try to use products that are "clean" and non-toxic to offset the few products I use that I "just can't live without" and can't find as organic or non-toxic. EWG Skin Deep gives it a #4 ranking which is "low". It is scented, and luckily I like the way it smells.

I wanted it to do something spectacular to my hair, but it didn’t. No extra shine no extra anything. Just shampoo.

As other reviewers have noted, this is not the same formula as the smaller bottle, which specifically mentions hydration - this bottle does not and is a different formula. Does not remove tangles and leave silky soft like other formulation.

This conditioner works very well with slippage and moisture on my dry to the bone natural hair. I have purchased Giovanni 50/50 several times and will again. I was not paid to say this but this product is the "Beast" when it comes to treating the hair on your head like royalty! A must buy rather your hair is natural or permed. It also works really well on hair when I flat iron my hair. I'll give this product 7 stars but to be in line with everyone else I go with the max of 5 stars...

I got this because I have low porosity hair and moisture is a continual must. It doesn't have protein (that I've noticed) which is great. Good smell that isn't strong. I would repurchase but I didn't notice it had Phenoxyethanol in it which disagrees with me.

I have super fine, easily tangled hair. This stuff makes my tangles mostly just slip away! I love that, and that I only need a tiny amount to work on my slightly longer than shoulder length hair.

This conditioner has great slip and after rinsing leaves my hair feeling manageable and soft, works well together with the shampoo of the same name and the Giovanni Direct Leave In conditioner. I have simplified my hair routine with the help of these products...no more pre-shampoo treatments with oils needed.
