Does the trick
Be sure you use the correct size Moen shower valve kit and it will fit in the center circle of this cover. I've used two in two bathrooms to replace separate hot/cold handle setups with a Moen mixer valve with single handle.

seems to be genuine
Moen website says this is made out of brass. Moen is about $30 more and probably shipping will be extra. The plate I got is metal and magnet does not stick. Chrome finish is very good and no sharp edge. The retail box seems to be real as well. All parts included. I wish this came with foam inside for water barrier. Water will leak through this so I plan to add foam and silicon seal on top. Leaving bottom small gap for drain. The plate is in a thin box. Amazon sent this in envelope so shipping damage may be possible.

Your shower will look like a 1950's Cadillac.
This much chrome makes me want to sing Elvis songs in the shower. Frankly, I wish there were a more elegant solution, but there isn't. So I ordered this instead. And it worked "okay". I gave it 4 stars because you have to apply a thin bead of silicone caulk per the instructions to seal this to the shower wall. A quality product would have included a pre-cut silicone gasket at the mating surfaces. C'mon Moen, do better. Just because you're the only cover plate (the proper term is "escutcheon") on the market doesn't mean you can or should rest on your laurels. Frankly, if I had time I would have cut my own out of aluminum plate, polished it, and brazed aluminum threaded posts to the back for a firmer mount. But I ain't got time for that.Speaking of which - here is how to make a proper silicone seal. DO NOT just glob silicone on the part and try to install it, because you will be moving the escutcheon around and it will smear silicone all over the place leading to a frustrating cleanup job. Instead, apply a thick bead of clear anti-mildew silicone to the back of the escutcheon, and let it sit for about 15-20 minutes. The bead will begin to "skin" over. When you can touch it without the silicone sticking to your finger, but it's still soft, then filp it over and let it rest on a flat hard surface. A bathroom counter is ideal for this, but you can also use a non-stick cookie feed from the dollar store. As long as it is flat, smooth, and non-stick. It will stick, just not that well. Apply a slight bit of pressure to flatten out the bead. Then let it fully cure - probably about 4 hours. Then use a flat spatula, scraper, or even a razor blade to separate the silicone seal from the surface. Before installing, thoroughly clean the surface of the tub or shower you're mounting it to. After installation, use a razor blade to clean up any exposed silicone.

Great refit for shower!
We needed to replace the old valves in our shower from a three handles, (hot, cold, and diverter) to a single throw newer faucet. We wanted Delta fixtures and we did not want to retile the whole bathroom. Our plumber was able to remove only enough tile to remove the old valves, combine the water pipes to fit the new single throw and cover it completely with the Moen 1920 cover plate without retiling. Clear silicone seals the deal and it all looks great. Yes, it will work with most Delta single throws. The diverter is now on the tub spout below. Very reasonable fix. And , it looks very nice! The other cover plates we saw available were in our opinion we just ugly and plain. This cover plate has some lines and style that look good and now we have a new shower system with little money out. Thanks Amazon, quick, easy, inexpensive. We love it!

The 1920 plate keeps the plumber from having to rip down more tile then needed !
I'm still finishing my install but I wanted to show you what your looking at once installed. It's very nice and does what it supposed to. I had to buy a Moen 2" handle extension kit because my shower valve is deeper in the wall and this plate and the fixtures plate adds a little more thickness for the handle to pass through with the original part. The 1920 plate is perfect if you need plumbing work but dont want them to destroy you bathroom tile with a massive hole

Metal, comes with brackets, adds 3/4 height and looks great !!!
This is a great visual design. I really like how it looks. Yes, it does look great. It is made out of metal with a nice finish. It does come with the hardware, and it has a 5" hole in the center. It adds 3/4 inches to the height of the finished wall, so make sure you have wriggle room behind and you can adjust the valve by moving the 2x4 support. That is what I had to do so the lever/trim could reach the stem threads and lock all in place..
