Best bet for making perfect dosai
So I recently purchased this cast iron tawa from Indus Valley, and I couldn't be happier! The quality is outstanding—heavy, durable, and perfectly seasoned right out of the box. It heats evenly, holds temperature well, and gives food that perfect sear. I've used it for Dosas that comes out amazing. Cleanup is simple with just a little warm water and oiling afterward. This tawa has quickly become my go-to for cooking. Highly recommended!

Working well
We’ve used it for rotis, fish fry, to grill veggies. It’s performed rather well. Do dry it on the stove and oil it before you store it away

Very poor quality- Indus valley cast iron products
A very bad quality product, the tawa surface isn't even flat. There are so many bumps. It's not the problem with just this one piece. I've heard the same thing from few of my friends who brought cast iron products from indus valley.Dosa doesn't come properly even after seasoning so many times due to these bumps, which is a manufacturing error. This product after paying such high cost is waste. It's better to go for wrought iron from some local shops than fall for such marketing gimmicks or buy lodge or meyer brand cast iron products. Lodge and meyer brand products are of higher cost but definitely can be passed down for generations.

INDUS VALLEY CAST IRON TAWA REVIEW
Good quality tawa, its quite heavy. Product shown in the image is the same. Dosas are prepared crispy and comes out easily. Worth buying this product. Due to the packaging issue there was a crack at the side of the tawa.

Cooking Surface Very Rough
The tawa came well packed and appears to be sturdy. However the cooking surface had a rough texture and had not been machined or ground smooth. Even after seasoning it repeatedly, the surface was not non-stick with food adhering to the surface, making clean-up difficult.Have tried to smoothen it using an orbital sander and sand papering by hand, and then again seasoning the surface, but there has only been a slight improvement.Have been using cast iron skillets from other makes, and was happy to find that an Indian company is now manufacturing cast iron cookware. Would have expected that the pan would be finished to a smoother finish. Will see if the seasoning and non-stick property improves in time.

Tava
This is the b st thing that happened to a 'dosa -lover' like me.The dosas come out thick yet crispy.Easy to clean, just keep it seasoned with oil at all times.

Good Product
The tava is very good but the handle also heats very fast and becomes difficult to handle when hot

Cast iron tawa.
This cast iron tawa gets badly rusted inspite of washing and drying with cloth. It is very dangerous for health to cook on this.Sheer wastage of money and useless.
