Crazy-solid, well-built, and versatile
What a beast of a vise! Arguably overkill for a home shop, but after settling for a succession of worn-out, undersized bench vises left behind in the various houses I’ve lived it, it’s a treat to have a new one that’s this solid, well built, and capacious.I use mine for blacksmithing, welding, and general metalworking, and it’s well up to all those tasks. Bench-mounting (installation) was simple, too.

I thought; " There is NO WAY this was made in China"
I was very pleasantly surprised, even amazed that I could find no flaws with this product upon examining it after unboxing the item. The paint was perfectly applied - even to the bottom of the base. The machining and castings are flawless and some forethought and consideration went into the design of this vise. For example, if you turn the vise over (bottom up), you will find a port at the front near the handle for the application of oil to lubricate the screw inside the keyed column or "spindle" that carries the movable jaw of the vise. The jaws by the way, are very nicely machined with a diamond pattern etched nicely into the surface for good grip. The edges of the jaws are sharp though, and I would go over the edges lightly with an abrasive stone or file so that no one gets cut accidentally. But this is a minor concern, really. At first I thought that the nut that rides on the screw which drives the jaw back and forth must be a simple affair like you would expect a nut and bolt to look like, but I was wrong on that count too. The "nut" that rides over the screw inside the spindle of this vise is large and covers a fair portion of the screw itself, and it doesn't even look like a nut. The design is more sophisticated than I expected of such a simple tool.We like to say that "you get what you pay for". Well, when you purchase this vise, you are getting more than your money's worth in my opinion - definitely a rare occurrence in today's economy.

Packaging is BAD..... Vise is great....
Alright, within 30 minutes of receiving the vise at my roof and floor truss manufacturing company, we installed the vise on our service table and its awesome absolutely ZERO complaints We broke our previous vise and required a much better vise for do here and this will be the . BUT!!!!!! the UPS guy who is not at fault struggled to bring it in my office on delivery because the box absolutely fell apart, narrowly missing his foot! One the mounting ears embedded into my entryway's concrete slab without exaggeration a 1/2" it honestly didn't even look like it damaged the coating let alone the vise, as I said before we installed immediately and had no trouble at all with immediate heavy use, to separate a hydraulic cylinder and gland unit that was severely seized thread size about 3", I said we are attempting to break the vise in the first hour we have it.... the vise has won all battles so far.

Great sealed screw vise
Perfect mid size vise with a sealed screw for outdoor applications like a service truck. Smaller than the apprentice vise and not up to the same quality standards, but so far it looks better than the $100 open screw options.
