Q: What is the best way to prepare the pump ( i.e., clean the pump) before installing the impeller?

I just too a small round brush (like a bottle brush or much smaller) and in the kitchen sink I cleaned the whole pump up. put the impeller in and it has been working great ever since! Good luck. Hope it works for you as it has for me!
