KIMPEX 458000 Black Nomad Trunk Rear

Original (see update below) Received this yesterday and installed it on my 08 Brute Force 750. Installation isn't too bad. It's all ways nerve racking drilling holes in new accessory but we were able to line it up and drill without issue. Fit and finish is great for the price. Girlfriend likes the feel. We'll test it out on a long ride I a couple weeks.It's important to remember that most 4 wheelers are not meant for 2 up riding. My brute is no exception. It changes the suspension geometry and raises the center of gravity. This means crashing is a lot easier and could kill the both of you. Ride extra smart if you do this!!!Update 1: as others have noted, the metal cable that secures the lid from opening too far broke on one side with very little force. The crimps are not good quality. The lid still works it just hyperextends now. The bigger more concerning issue is water leakage. Water is getting into the compartments a lot. Sitting in the rain or riding in it, water pours in somewhere leaving all my gear a wet mess. I have an inquiry with Kimpex pending but have reduced my rating because I ordered dry storage space not water containers.Update 2: Kimpex really stands by their products. A customer service rep worked with me to trouble shoot my issue and ended up replacing the faulty parts. I'm very pleased and excited to see how the replacement holds up to the water!

I ordered this as an x-mas gift & when it gave me and estimated delivery day it wasn’t suppose to be here until dec. 26th. I was bummed out by it but The next day I came home from running errands & there it was sitting on my front porch! I was so freakin happy that it was here for Xmas! Since I gifted it, I have heard nothing but great things about it. They absolutely love it & it fits their 2002 Yamaha Kodiak 400 4x4 perfectly! They are definitely happy that it has a more comfortable seat for passenger & that seat actually sits up a bit higher then the driver, so you can actually get a good view instead of the back of the drivers head! All in all, it was a great purchase. Well worth the money, great quality & super fast delievery !

Order arrived on time. Shipping box was beat up, and re-taped so I was prepared to open it and find the trunk in pieces, or at least damaged. To my surprise, the unit was in perfect shapewhich is a testament to how durable the thing is. It was easy to install on my 2014 Brute Force, taking only 30 minutes from start to finish. My wife says that the rear seat is very comfortable. It has a rubber gasket that keeps water and dust from getting inside. Everything was top quality with only one exception, and that is why it didn't receive 5 stars. The first time I opened one of the side compartments, after installation, the metal wire keeper (that keeps the lid from flopping open and destroying the hinges) broke and now I am afraid that the hinges will get damaged with use. I will probably have to replace it with something like a strap with rivets. It's a shame that they didn't pay more attention to detail on this one aspect of their product, especially with how nice the rest of the trunk is.****As a side note, I purchased the Kimpex fender guards at the same time and they are a very nice addition to the rear lounger setup. Super strong, look very nice, and come with a set on super strong aluminum foot brackets (if you buy them from Amazon) that fold up out of the way when not in use. The Nomad trunk and the fender guards make the rear seat safe and comfortable.

Bought 2. These things are truely massive, plenty of room for helmets, coolers etc. Very comfortable for the passenger, not one complaint from the kids on a 5 hour ride. Seemingly very durable, they have been through very rough terrain and use with no cracks or damage.Dont expect the strap to contain gas can or cooler on moderate trails, i lost both. I moved the cooler to the interior compartment and the u bolts shredded my $40 cooler. The supplied thread covers for the u bolt threads are useless on their own, use rtv to keep them on.The side area where the handles are will beat up your kidneys/sides/back on rugged terrain. Not an issue on moderate trails but....Supplied u-bolts will shred anything (maps,coolers,goggles, helmet bags) left in the compartments, I learned the hard way and plan to line & cover with foam.I like the product but price point is higher than quality would dictate, in my mind anyway.Im fairly good with my hands & each one took 30-45 minutes to install.

The box was damaged, but the seat was in perfect shape. Not too difficult to install, had to assemble the seat. Sturdy , great storage and best it it very comfortable. Expensive, but worth it. Highly recommend this seat.

I am absolutely satisfied and love this nomad pack! It cares soooo much stuff, very durable and omg the seal is amazing around the lids! Hold a gas can as well?? Double win! I purchased a cooler liner from a saddlebag to put in one side and all my problems are solved! Go on long journeys and have everything you need nice and dry! I love it!
