I am very familiar with books published by Schiffer Publishing and the quality of their books is outstanding. I purchased the three (3) volume set of German Dagger books written by Thomas M. Johnson, and the price of the set on Amazon.com can not be beat. I was already familiar with Mr. Johnson's web site and several years ago I purchased a WWII Naval dagger from him to add to my personal collection. This gentleman is an expert and collector of German WWII daggers and other items. These books provide excellent photos of daggers from the different military and paramilitary groups in Germany during WWII, and there are many historical photos that show the dagger awards and presentation. These books contain many black and white and color photos with an excellent attention to detail. There are many daggers in these books that the average collector like myself could not afford because or the rarity of the item and who receiver the dagger. I do highly recommend this set of books for the dagger collector and WWII militaria buff.

I just received Volume II of this series (as pictured). Lots of great pictures and information on German daggers. However, it is NOT a reference on markings or rarity.

This book is interesting and has some interesting pictures but it’s not a reference book that would help one determine whether or not their daggers are authentic. It would be nice if it had lists of makers marks and other information about the construction and design of the daggers. Not a terrible book but not a reference book in my opinion.

"My Honor is my Service" A wonderful book filled with great knowledge on the edge 2 weapons of the German army navy.

LtCol Johnson has put together an outstanding collection of photographic references for anyone interested in WWII German daggers. This is one of them.

Excellent very good information-incredible photos

Good reference book and affordable!

The pictures are outstanding in this book but do not buy it if you want detailed information about individual makers. Most of the daggers are extremely rare and/or expensive and out of reach for 99% of collectors. If you want a book that has some excellent pictures of high end daggers or German personnel wearing them then this is for you. Most of the information in this book can be found online with a quick Google search.
