I've bought this knife multiple times. The price is incredible for the quality. I bought one or two and found them super useful. Put one in car and one in junk drawer. Oops, I need one for upstairs, so bought another. Dang need one in garage, again. I also bought another for my utility bag. If there's a better knife at this price I have not found it.

When my knife arrived I took it out for a quick test drive. I do a lot with scouting and need knives for various tasks. This knife has a decent edge out of the box, but that will obviously be honed. The feel and sturdiness makes me confident when using to cut or strip things using the blade. Very easy and responsive flip out for quick access. The bonus was the fire striker which is stowed in the hilt. I have many of these in my individual packs so it is nice to have one right in my pocket accompanying my knife.I will be out hiking and camping this weekend and will add this to my collection and see how it works out in my more rigorous usage. All in all, I think it is a great value for a knife that seems like it will last for a while.Update as of 8/1/2019: I have had the knife for a couple of months. When I attended a scouting event I used the knife. It worked well. When I returned home after that week, I went to go clean the knife and noticed that the screw/bolt that holds the knife to the handle was missing. This renders the knife useless as it is unstable. I am not able to find out how to reach customer service to find out about servicing the knife. There was not a lot of heavy use, so I am not sure why the bolt was loosened.

Great knife, I have bought them 4 or 5 times. It would have got a 5 star but eventually the small bolt always wiggles out and I have to buy it again. This time I bought Locktight, and should fix the problem. But still a great sharp high quality knife.

I hate it. Purchased for a hands on review only. The blade is great, the handle feels horrible but is practical, extremely sturdy despite feeling otherwise. The fire starter works as intended but come on 99.9999% of us would never use it. Over all it does deserve the 5 star review on quality and cost effectiveness along. I would love to see this blade one a different handle because that pretty much where all my biases are. I would give this to a responsible child as an out door work knife, fishing and tackle box gear for sure. For myself it's going in the ugly box of shame.

This is the second knife I’ve purchased from Grand Way. The first was far more decorative (but useful), this second one is very practical. I’ve used it on a couple weekend backpacking trip now and have no complaints. The blade deployment is easy (with one hand if needed) and fold up easily once the lock is disengaged. Using the knife fully with one hand works well but you do need a bit of dexterity to do so (opening and closing). The “extra” features on the knife ( spark striker and whistle) work well. The whistle can be used without removing it from the knife and is extremely high pitched and clear (I scared the heck out of my cats with it by accident when testing it). I suspect it’ll be useful for frightening off wildlife that gets a little to chummy. The striker works (you have to scrape down the finish, as with any striker) well enough. It is very small and intended for emergency use (I’d not use it as your main fire lighting source simply due to size), and in that regard it works well. I was able to light a homemade fire starter / tinder (cotton ball covered in Vaseline) within just a minute or so of trying. The extra paracord wrapped on the handle may be hard to remove, but could be done in an emergency if needed, it’s mostly there for grip and hang utility though.This knife seems to be a great value for a 440c blade in a package that is very useable and attractive. I’m hoping to enjoy using it for years. I’m hard on knives, and will update down the road if I find issues, but for now I think it’s great and am planning on ordering a few more for stocking stuffers this year.

Dangerous! Check the blade lock First!This knife feels sturdy, sharp and well constructed. However like others have observed, the blade fails to lock open. This is a very dangerous flaw! The problem is that the catch does not slip behind the heel of the blade and not enough material was ground from the heel to fit it. (Edit: I received a replacement knife and I'm quite pleased with it. All aspects are functional and it is very sturdy. The grip is very comfortable and easy hold. The knife opens easily and the blade lock functions as it should. The emergency whistle and flint are difficult to remove but I'm ok with that as I want these to be there if I ever need them.)

How could this be possible? As you may see in the picture this is the fourth GRAND WAY product I bought and again I'm not disappointed at all. This pocket knife is really good for the price. Great blade lenght and thickness, comfortable handling and great utillity as EDC. I bought two, one for me and one for 9 years old child to be his first camping knife. Is so easy to handle that even my child manage to set it open with one easy movement of his hand (obviouslly he should grab it with both for security but don't need them to flick it open). IT IS SPRING ASSISTED so no one should have difficulties to action it. Overall, another really good GRAND WAY product I strongly recommend to buy and of course so far I recommend all the products I bought from this brand
