This is a great accurate tool. My previous caliper was from Harbor Freight, so I guess anything would have been an improvement. I like how you can measure something, and when you close it back down, it goes right back to zero. The battery seems to be lasting a long time too as I’ve had this quite some time before writing this review. In closing I’ll just say this is worth every penny if you need accuracy every time.

It's a Mitutoyo 8' digital caliper, so it's great! It works just like every other Mitutoyo caliper I've ever used, so it is EXCELLENT. Delivery was amazingly quick: it arrived two days before original ETA.

I am a professional CNC lathe machinist at a machine shop. We make a lot of parts for aerospace and defense with very tight tolerances and quality standards. Therefore, we have a vast array of very expensive and precision measuring and inspection equipment and Mitutoyo's products meet those demands. While more expensive than a lot of the cheap alternatives on the market, they are still far less than many of the other premium brands. This and all of the Mitutoyo tools I used are reliable and will last you for years with minimal maintenance.

Can't hardly beat mitutoyo's quality. Great caliper that I use frequently. I just wish it had an auto-off mode.

After almost 30 years of service, the negative battery clamp broke on my Mitatoyo Absolute Caliper. While the new one was more than triple the cost, the quality and construction is there.You can pay less for other brands but this one will outlast me.
