Great replacement top for Jeep TJ Unlimited
This top is excellent. OEM type fabric, replacement header bars, door surrounds, and rear window bottom bar. Easy step-by-step installation instructions. VERY tight fit, put it on during a nice warm summer day. Was 65 out when I installed and had a heck of a time stretching it to fit. Surely it will loosen up some with time. Great unobstructed views out of the side and rear windows, no support bars blocking your sight. Perfect amount of tint on the clear vinyl windows. Big sunrider, no extra hinge to deal with. Haven't run full speed with windows off, and sunrider open, but hope to soon. Recommend this as a great value if your looking for a replacement top on a TJ Unlimited 2-door.

There are some things... But still worth it!
Wonderful quality top that I'm obsessed with the look of; however, the front header that the top attaches to was scuffed up with rusted screws in it and clearly been used (not cool but that piece is hidden anyway), it was an absolute PIA to put on toward the end and took hours (was not nearly enough sunshine so that's partially our fault), and I hate the huge random white bestop logo centered on the back of it (you can sort of see it in my photo) which no one else seems to have. I'm gonna try to find a way to cover that up. Literally still only giving it 4 stars because it's generally a beautifully designed top with long lasting quality and has dramatically cut down my road noise!

A pain to install initially, but great design and quality
It took me four hours to remove my old top and install this top. Don't bother trying to install this unless it's 85+ degrees and sunny outside. You really need the heat to loosen and expand the fabric. Also, if you follow the directions exactly, may not be successful in getting the rear and sides attached. I had a hard time getting the side panels to meet up with the rear panel. Solution: I ended up having to unlatch the sun rider, attach the side panels to the top WITHOUT tucking them into the door surrounds, then connecting the side panels to the rear panel, and then finally using a plastic trim tool and measured force to get the side panel tucked into the door surrounds. After I finished the install, I let it sit for three full days in the sun. After that, it's been pretty easy to remove and install.

Way too tight, and customer service is the worst
I've had this thing for a couple of years now, 4 to be exact.4 stars would be right, until you factor in customer service..It looks great, multi-functional, easy to put on and off alone when needed. (I'm 6'3" with long monkey arms, wouldn't recommend trying it solo for a short person)The inserts for the slant bars in back have never fit.. the only way the top goes on is with those out.. and even with them out, and the top baking all day in 90+ degree sun, zipping the back window has always been a trial. The zipper seam tore finally, I know it would.. and for 6 months I have been trying to order a replacement form Bestop. Not asking for a freebie, just wanting to buy a replacement.. but if you email, they reply saying to call, you call, and sit on hold for hours, no one answers. Try their online chat, it says they are too busy, please call.. and so the loop begins again. They sent me the wrong top twice in the beginning, so I want to make sure i get the correct part ordered the first time this time.. but sadly I guess I am going to break down and order a new top from a different company.. this back window is going to cost a third of the cost of buying a whole new top anyway.

So far so good
Follow the directions when you are installing it and dont pull on the little tabs to put the side panels on.. they will tear. Those tabs are to take the sides off only. Looks great, got some complements. Once it is on and streatches out it is easy to take the back and sides on and off. Taking the back window off is easy, takes a few seconds. Puting it back on can take 5 minutes, you have to take one of the sides off and zip the first few teeth of the back window on on both sides, then put the side panel back on and then you can fully zip the back and put the bar at the bottom. It doesnt flap around at high speeds and doesnt leak in heavy rain. Buy this for the looks, versatility and quality.

I like the versatility but the quality doesn't seem where it was 4 years ago
This is my second of these tops - though the first one was for a TJ instead of an LJ. I loved the first one and it met every expectation. It stayed tight, the windows stayed clear, everything stayed in good working order for the 4 years I used it.This one starts flapping above the front seat area around 40-45mph and slaps the support arch and the whole Jeep feels like I'm inside a drum. I end up running without the top arch as much as I can so it's not there for the fabric to slap, but when we go through the rainy season I'm just gonna have to live with it because I'm certain water will pool there without the arch in place. The overall tightness of the top doesn't seem to play a role because it seems tighter than the first one going side to side, as it's more of a challenge to seat and unseat the sides that hook into the rails on the top of the door surround.Notable differences that should be mentioned is my TJ was a 99 with a sound bar, and my LJ has sound pods - so there may have been more contact with the top fabric along the B pillar area that could have prevented movement. Also, the LJ has a vent in the tailgate, where the 99 did not, so I don't know if there was something to not having the vent that pressurized the top and kept the flapping under control. But if these two are factors, Bestop should know about it and have something in the design to produce a similar user experience regardless of what year Wrangler you happen to have. The new one also has a large, reflective and very conspicuous Bestop logo above the rear window instead the smaller one on the rear window that they used to have. I prefer the smaller one since I don't really like advertising for companies without getting paid, but it is what it is.
