Still as good as they were in 1995
This is my third one. They last between 8 and 10 years and the failure mode is that the keys eventually wear out. The way to extend the life is to set it to auto shut off and never turn it off manually. That cuts the key cycles in half so it lasts twice as long. Mine is used perhaps 5 or 6 times per day so while they could make it more expensive and longer lasting I am quite happy to have another one.

3 months and it failed.
Bought this item in Jan 2025. Put it into service 1-24-25. 3-26-25 ice bath verification showed a 5oF difference. This is out the return window. Called Amazon and they allowed return and replacement . This is the first time we have tried this model number 101724013-35140. Generally we use the 36036 models. Have never had a problem with the 36036. First try with this model is a fail. We have 1 more that was ordered earlier this month. Hopefully this one works for more than 3 months. Finding the 36036 model is getting very difficult. In our experience, the 36036 model works prefect so of course it gets discontinued...
