Just what we needed to complete our wood burning stove install.

I needed to raise an existing pipe higher by a couple feet. all the stove pipe manufacturers have proprietary pipe that won't fit another. I had to take a picture of the end of my existing pipe to make sure I ended up with the right one. Bingo! Duravent was it.

I'm a SERIOUS DIY'er and found these to meet the needs I had when building an add-on and requiring a woodstove in it (which I built myself, look up my username on youtube). I only used two of these, for the parts that are outdoors, mounting the bottom one to a wood box built to the ceiling joists, via deck screws. A matching hole was cut in the roof and steel roofing, which was then caulked with silicone (top and bottom), providing 2 supports. The dual wall (the inner two I count as one) helps keep the outdoor part cool and my ceiling from getting too hot - the lower one is used as a "thimble" in my install. They do allow room air to escape between the walls, and to slow this I "tuned" the system via adding some loose fiberglass to "plug" the inner to outer gap somewhat - yet still allow a "little" cooling air to escape. These are now tested with quite hot fires and work great. Yes, the twist lock is a very nice feature to have in this, I may not even add screws to hold the two pieces together outside. One could wish for stainless steel...but the price of that is a serious ouch. I suppose I will simply paint the outer portion. These haven't had a high-wind test yet, but they seem pretty darned solid, and I'm not worrying till there is something to indicate I should. It's nice that I could run some pretty serious deck screws through the outer portion to hold the bottom without worrying about penetrating the inner part with the smoke in it, to get a truly solid mounting for my use.

The product I bought had a big dent when I took it out of the box but I had to use it anyway it was going to hold up the job and It would have cost me more for the hold up
