IT'S A DELL!
The very first laptop I had was a Dell, way back in 2005. Since then, over the past 15 years, because of planned obsolescence I suppose, I've owned a Sony Vaio laptop - just loved this one but it couldn't keep up with all the new apps i used - a Lenova POS...phew, stinko! and most recently a Hewlett Packard. So now I'm back to a Dell and I really love it.Let me say first of all that the HP (which was of comparable quality and price to this Dell) was returned after a week of use. It simply did not live up to the hype - poor camera, weak battery, iffy touch screen and on and on. Lucky for me, both Amazon and the seller were hugely cooperative in helping me return it. After that experience, I spent quite a bit of time exploring which laptop I was going to purchase. After a lot of thought and comparison shopping I decided on this Dell. AND I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!I'm using it to write this review and I have to say it covers everything on my wish list and just about perfectly. The touchscreen works well although every once in a while I do seem to encounter a dead spot. But then the next time, I notice, it appears to have come back in the same space. I love the lighted keyboard and don't think I'd ever get another laptop without this feature. In fact the keyboard has an excellent touch which, since I do type a lot is a huge plus factor. What else can I say...The battery life? Pretty good usually 4+ hours although I notice when the keyboard is lit it does seem to reduce the battery time. I have to say, though, that whenever the low battery warning comes on I simply plug it in to charge so I'm not sure how long it will actually last. The camera? Excellent quality for what I use it for. Oh, and I use Mozilla Firefox rather than the Microsoft Edge which comes with. Firefox loaded just fine and works just the way I want it to work. One other thing which may sound silly but I simply did not want another black finish laptop. The color/finish on this is a smooth to the touch silvery/grey and I love it. My laptop is out all the time and it looks wonderful...no big black spot sitting there yawning at me when it's closed. Just a nice silvery space to look at.All in all, I'm very glad I'm back with Dell. It was my very first laptop and will now since I'm in my 70's, could very well be my last. But if I live long enough to need another one, I'm thinking it will be a Dell. And that makes me very happy.

May have trouble with memory or motherboard
Bought this laptop. Day one: loaded all of my information on this machine including all my bookmarks and password, banking information and so on. Day two: laptop would NOT turn on, screen blank. Called Dell Tech Support and now I need to replace a "memory stick" which they are going to send me. May possibly need to replace the mother board. Right now I am not a happy customer. Update: Dell could not send memory stick with an international transfer document from seller. Decided to return the computer.
