Setup of the tach was super simple, industrial velcro on the bottom and mounted ...
I purchased a zero turn mower and being a mechanic I realized it was way under power at full throttle RPM from the factory. I needed a way to test and monitor the RPM of the engine at full throttle and to get the most horsepower out of my mower to cut more efficiently.. The engine is rated at 3600 rpm and as stated in the owners manual is designed to run and operate at full throttle rpm, which is 3600 rpm while grass cutting.WOW!........was i surprised when i hooked the Tiny Tach TT2A up and found my full throttle max RPM was 3050 to 3100.......meaning way under power for grass cutting operation. If you run a zero turn mower small engine day in day out at too much less than full throttle you are asking for trouble, as far as engine cooling, since they are air cooled engines, and also Hydrostatic performance and longevity, since hydro cooling (fans mounted on top of hydros) and response are also engine RPM based performance. In my service manual it states in bold black letters.............. ALWAYS OPERATE THE ENGINE AT FULL THROTTLE RPM WHILE MOWING..........well.........if the engine is not set up properly at the factory, and without a tachometer of some sort you won't know if it is, you certainly won't know what your engine RPM's are, to see if it is full throttle. Almost always for 4 stroke small gasoline engines and especially on commercial zero turn mowers the full throttle RPM is rated at 3600.After adjusting the full throttle limit screw to where it should have been from the factory, which should have been at least close to 3600 rpm, now the hydros are no longer sluggish, the grass doesn't build up under the deck and the the mower and engine are performing properly and powerfully as designed. Setup of the tach was super simple, industrial velcro on the bottom and mounted near throttle lever, to quickly monitor engine RPM's in response to throttle position. Tiny Tach TT2A is a great little tach that monitors engine RPM's instantly, I already had an hour meter, but as a mechanic I feel a tach is almost a must for monitoring engine RPM's on any zero turn mower, and especially one which is designed for commercial mowing.Tiny Tach TT2A helped me get the most out of my engine by helping me properly adjust full throttle RPM's, which meant increased horsepower, and hydro pump speed, which in turn improved my mower greatly as far as Hydrostatic response, and grass discharge, due to higher blade tip speed. In my opinion a tachometer should be standard equipment, not an aftermarket add on, since engine rpm is so vital and critical to mowing performance....................well...............and another area that is also greatly over looked by many commercial mowing operations as well as home owners and and that is.................SHARP BLADES...............(<:

Battery last longer than advertised!
Exact replacement for the one I had on my go devil mud motor. The first one FINALLY ran out of battery after 7 years! They work great and last much longer than the 3-5 years they say it will. Easy install. Great product..

Nice. Mounting is so so
Easy to install on 3 cylinder 4 stroke Mercury outbiard. Set the proper angle. Bingo. Now see if engune hours and rpm readings work. Not happen with mounting options. Two screw flange assumes its screwed to lay on flat surface. My 14 foot aluminum boat does not provide that. Jury rig something wire tied to other wires....

Good little gadget!
Great little gadget to have on your engines that don't have a tachometer or an hour meter. Highly recommend this Tiny Tach! Not sure if it can be done through Amazon but you can custom order these with longer wires through the manufacturers website.

One Star
erratic display, tried several wrap configurations per instructions but at idle it still wandered from 800 to 1300 rpm...

Super simple install, works great
Very, very easy to install on the Honda GX160 on my log splitter. Now I can track maintenance for the engine via the hour-meter. I have a kinetic splitter so the tach is great for setting the engine to a certain rpm for splitting operations.

Works great!
I needed an easy tachometer to install onto an old 4400 watt generator. It is critical for the machine to run close to 3600 rpm in order to generate 60 cycles per second. The original rpm was lost when I rebuilt the carburetor. I drilled and tapped two #10-24 threads into the generator handle near the spark plug for mounting the Tiny-Tach and wired as directed. It was then easy to adjust the engine governor to deliver 3600 rpm. A definite recommend.

Easy to install. A must have for small engines.
I ordered two of these for my commercial pressure washers. They were easy to install and they help me keep track of the performance and maintenance on my equipment.
