This is a proper automatic watch. It has scratch-resistant sapphire glass and a full 316L surgical stainless steel. It uses Seiko NH34 Automatic GMT Movement which also offers a date dial and the 42-hour power reserve. It is waterproof for up to 100M. These are all you need in a wrist watch.This is a GMT watch. If you're not familiar, it means it has an extra hand that uses the 24-hour format within the watch's face. This extra hand tells the time of another time zone that you are interested in. You choose what this other time zone is and as the main hands turns, this extra hand moves as well.All that aside, this feels comfortable and not as heavy as I imagined. I am not a fan of the large solid aluminum metal bar though which usually sits at the bottom of the wrist. It uses push button foldover clasp that easily snaps on and off. I have had this for more than 2 months and do not see any scratches on the face but there are some tiny signs of use on the bracelet. As with any automatic watches, I had to make adjustments every now and then because they have gears that are just not as accurate as the actual day.I only ever wear automatic watches because I hate worrying about batteries so smartwatches have no appeal to me - maybe until they start using a nuclear power so they can last a lifetime. So I am very familiar with its limitations. The 42-hour reserve is at the high-end of the average power reserve so that's a good amount although the average person doesn't really need more than 36 hours. Every few weeks, they would become off by a minute or two and this seems to be in that range.Overall, I think its a great watch if you are going to use the second time zone. I don't really travel a lot but I use the second time zone to tell the time of where my satellite work office is.P.S. I showed this to a friend and, was told, this is probably based on the Omega Aqua Terra Worldtimer which looks stunning.

This men's automatic watch looks great and having the GMT movement helps if you travel a lot between time zones. This watch looks great, and it fits well with semi-formal or formal attire. I need to do a strap adjustment. Mine came fairly loose, and it didn't come with a strap adjuster that I could find, so I haven't been able to wear this as much as I would like.My only real issue with the watch, besides not coming with a way I could adjust the strap, is that there are a bunch of city names around the edge of the watch and a map on the backing but this is not a world time watch so they serve no practical purpose. This is mentioned but I think it makes the watch face look unnecessarily 'busy' and it's distracting that a watch would have a bunch of stuff on it for no purpose other than to 'look' busy which could be mistaken for trying to 'look' more expensive than it is. This is exactly what you want to avoid with one of only several accessories for menswear—and a watch is arguably the most important of those.I have much, much more expensive watches than this which look less busy and more refined. But that is not why I got this watch. I was looking more for a watch for my regular workday and to wear to meetings and events and this works great for that.Overall, I would say this is an excellent watch for day-to-day use and it has a good look.

The GMT function is useful if you travel or just like the look of a dual-time display.
