"Spit Happens: My Paint Sprayer Horror Story!"
The media could not be loaded. Alright, here we go!Picture this: I’d rather let a toddler with a paint roller go wild on my walls than deal with this sprayer. Seriously, the instructions must have been written by someone who thinks "DIY" stands for "Do It Yikes!"First off, the nozzles are like a mystery box—who knows what size any of them are? I half expected to find a button for “instant regret.” And when I finally got it to spray, it felt like I was trying to spit paint on the wall in a bizarre contest. “Look, Ma! No hands!”After two hours of wrestling with this paint demon just to cover the bottom half of a corner, I began to wonder if I should’ve just painted with my fingers. I’ve used sprayers before and, aside from a few hiccups, they usually cooperate. But this one? It’s like it’s auditioning for a role in a horror movie: “The Sprayer That Wouldn’t Spray.” Avoid like the plague!

Amazing!...Just Kidding...
The media could not be loaded. Sometimes you get what you pay for. Sometimes you find a diamond in the rough. Which is it with the Koolpool Paint Sprayer? I have to say it's about in the middle of both. In this review, I'm not going to point out the good and the bad. Honestly, it will look mostly bad. I'll basically explain my experience with the sprayer.First of all, everything you get is pretty impressive for $25. You get the sprayer, different sized nozzles, a pipe cleaner, and a bag full of gloves. I think it's great that it uses DeWalt batteries and don't include its own batteries. That saves a ton on the cost. When first testing things out, I found that the battery was pretty hard to remove. The first time removing the battery, I had to knock the batter off and it ended up falling to the ground. A 6mah DeWalt battery probably cost 5 times more than the sprayer itself. However, It did get a little easier to remove the battery the more I used it.Time to actually spray. I gotta say, it kinda sucks. The spray comes our very splotchy and not at a consistent flow. Reminds me like trying to start a car with a dying battery. Why the 4 stars you ask? I did water down the latex paint by adding 20% water. Saw this tip with many online DIYers that use handheld sprayers and I feel that it helped with the results. The paint ended up blending and flattening out as it dried. Is it perfect? Far from it, but it did come out fairly decent compared on how it initially came out. There are some "orange peel" effect. That's a term I stole from the car detailing world, but it fits this situation. I think the finished product came out O.K. I would give it a "C" or "C+".I think the Koolpool Paint Sprayer is one of those products that highly depends on what your intended use is. Is it for a professional painter? Of course not. Is it for experienced DIYers trying for a high-end paint finish? Probably not. The Koolpool is probably for the casual weekend warrior, especially if you're on a budget. I'll definitely continue using the Koolpool Paint Sprayer on other projects. Remember...it's only $25!
