YoLink Smart Valve Controller 2 with 1" Brass Motorized Ball Valve

Very nice whole house protection for about the same cost as for one water heater! Installed several weeks ago into the space from an old water leak sensor shutoff in my soft water supply line in our garage. Fit perfectly, took maybe an hour to install tops. Liked that it was a direct valve control rather than an arm that moved an existing valve handle. Seems very solid quality. I felt way better having it inside the garage....pretty sure the plastic case would have suffered if I had installed it outside in our south facing water supply in Phoenix. Plugged it in, although apparently can run it off battery only. Programmed my leak sensors to shut off the valve if a leak is detected initially without WIFI, and then to work with WIFI. Feeling this is the proper sequence if you are worried you might have a power outage. Had some problems figuring out how to program multiple units so I reached out to their help team and had good instructions within a day or two. Works really well...Grandma was in the shower and let it get really steamy, which set the toilet sensor off, which shut off the water, which really surprised and peeved Grandma! Didn't mean to shut off her shower, but thrilled it was as sensitive as that!How to program multiple devices:WITHOUT WIFI (do this first, if you want it): Google Yo Link D2D pairing or use link: https://shop.yosmart.com/blogs/manuals/ys7903-manual . As I understand it, the problem with programming with WIFI first is that you can't tell whether the system is shutting off the water via Device to Device (D2D) or through the WIFI. If power goes out and it is programmed only through WIFI, you might not be protected.WITH WIFI (links above are great; mine below are a bit rough, but may help clarify the process, especially for pairing multiple devices).1. open app on phone, click SMART on bottom of screen2. Click AUTOMATION top right of screen3. Click PLUS sign at top of screen4. Click NAME and use name you use for one individual leak sensor5. Click PLUS sign under WHEN, then choose your DEVICE ACTION6. To have the sensor shut off water whenever a leak is detected, click your leak sensor with the same name and then7. CHOOSE A RULE. My choice was to if WATER DETECTED, then8. BEHAVIOR, click PLUS Sign, then DEVICE ACTION is to CHECK BOX on YO LINK VALVE, then CLOSE VALVE. Click CONFIRM, then click check marks to confirm. Then, at the valve with leak detector in hand, trip leak detector with a wet rag and make sure valve closes; open valve and then:9. To program the next one, click the three dots to the right of the now-programmed leak sensor in SMART and then DUPLICATE.10. Rename the duplicate to the next leak sensor, choose the next sensor from the list, then save the routine and check it with wet rag. Open valve and do next leak detector.11. I grabbed all of my leak detectors, labeled them with their name with a labeling machine as I picked them up and then programmed and tested each one, confirming they worked and then put them back in position.

This works great awesome safety feature for your home to prevent any sort of flooding minimize water damage in your home while you're away or sleeping. I have paired this up with multiple water leak sensors that you place on the floor in areas where there's a potential for water leakage I use 8 in my home and it takes a lot of the stress out of having to be away from home for an extended period of time. Once the sensor is triggered after you have paired this device with your sensors it will automatically shut the valve off preventing any further leaks.

We installed this when we had our water softener system installed. It's fantastic! It's pretty quick to open and close and the range is fantastic. The plug with backup battery is also a huge plus.

This is freedom from power and internet. Responds and works every time to leak sensors. No disappointment.

This valve was very easy to install and set up. I had previously had 2 incidents at a rental property that caused thousands of dollars in damage. I installed one of these in my own house to make sure that it would work properly. The cleaning people accidentally got a little water under my sink and it instantly detected it and shut the water off to the house. Now I’ve installed one at my rental in hopes that it will save me from future flooding. Set up is a breeze and you don’t have to have internet for it to work. Also their customer support is excellent. I even saved $200 on my home insurance by installing it.
