Inspired brilliance!
Loved this sequel. The juxtaposition of their pathetic circumstances and the imagined glamour of musicals really brings out the pathos. Resulting in tugs at the heartstrings. I guess some people just don’t get it. But I enjoyed every minute.

Definitely worth a watch if you liked first one
I loved first one, I'm not a Lady Gaga fan or particularly of musicals & with all the bad press it's had I was wary of watching this but not only did I watch it & love it but I'll be watching it again for sure. The story development is really well done, but the songs didn't work for me for the reason that the tracks chosen didn't work- I guess they wanted tracks to give an olde world feel which I get but the tracks are too samey & have no hook, lyrically they're fitting but they don't add anything, so I see why many people don't like the songs, they are but short blips & in no way is the film anywhere near ruined by them but they are a weak spot. I'd say it's a 4.5 star film if I had the option & I recommend any fans of the original to give it a go & make your own mind up.Imperfect but definitely worth a watch

The trial of Arthur Fleck
A sequel to the 2019 film Joker. It picks up sometime after that left off. So this won't make any sense if you haven't seen Joker. If you have, read on.Joker did seem like a stand alone film that didn't need a sequel. Although I read a quote from the director at the time where he said another film maker had told him it was like the first act of a three act story. So here's an attempt at an act two. What happened next?Minor spoilers follow.Arthur is in prison. Awaiting trial. Everyone wants him to do jokes. Some view him as a hero for what he did. Then he happens to meet Lee Quinzel. An attraction blossoms. But it would seem that some people just want him to be Joker. Whereas he wants to be Arthur....That's the point of this film. Which a superb opening scene does point out. The story then builds, sticking to the point mentioned above. It is not a musical per se. It is a film that uses music at certain points to illustrate things. Joaquin Phoenix is not perhaps the best singer here. But then he's playing Arthur. Who is not perhaps the best singer. So that works.Lady Gaga is excellent as Lee Quinzel. And it is nice to have a slightly different take on that particular character. Rather than the usual one, who for me has gotten very very tired indeed.I thought this did build and build nicely and got pretty darn compelling. And when things happen in the middle it does become really compelling indeed. The middle is a great pay off to what came before. There's one scene in the middle involving just two actors which is absolutely incredible cinema. They are just good in this scene they blow you away.It then didn't do what I expected after that. Certainly not in terms of structure. It doesn't go the way of setting up a third film. It instead tries to get some closure. This does kind of work though. It does have some good points to make about people and mental and health and fans. Contrary to what the internet may claim this wasn't getting at fans at all. It just points out that some people can get rather fanatical at times to put it mildly. And you just have to look at the internet, in particular you tube comment sections, to see that. The ending is solid. In keeping with what this final act has done. It's a pity the performance of this film means there's no chance we will get a third and final act. What this film is not is a film with Joker doing Joker things for all of it. I suspect that's what people wanted. And that's why it got such hate. But the people who complain there's no originality in films now complain when a film tries to do something original. I think some people just get more joy nowadays from slagging off films. But if you're someone who wants to try and get something out of a film. An open minded person even, then this is worth trying. It's not as good as the first one. But it tried. I will remember it for that and a fair few of the things it did. So I'm glad I gave it a go.There's nothing extra during or after the end credits. The dvd has no extras.Language and subtitle options:Languages: English, Castilian Spanish, Czech, Polish.Subtitles: English, Castilian Spanish, Czech, Danish, Finnish, Polish, Norwegian, Swedish, Slovakian.

Interesting sequel
This is a interesting sequel, definitely not as bad as people made out to be.Would of liked to see more of Lady Gagas character in the film as her portrayal of Harley Quinn was the best on screen so far.Worth a watch 👍

Joker Folie a deux movie
This wasn’t as good as the first Joker movie! Bit of a flat storyline! It’s ok! But deffo preferred the first movie!

Really good sequel
The first film was a work of art and arguably the best ever superhero inspired film. This sequel is different in many ways including using a musical style. Lady Gaga gives a stunning performance that comes up to the established standard for this film. The musical style makes perfect sense in relation to the plot. But despite everything the end of the film has true shock value. Definitely worth watching

Absolutely dreadful
Have watched all the Joker films and this is by far the worst in my opinion. The dubbing was dreadful. The storyline was very poor. Good acting by J Pheonix. Overall dreadful.

Disappointing film
Bought as a gift was looking forward to watching this film but was very disappointed now where near as good as the first one. Way too much singing made it more like a musical wouldn’t watch again. Joker was still played well though.
