Charging up devices just got easier
This is a nifty product. It converts a USB C cable from "plugging in" to a magnetic connection. Works really well connecting an Android phone or USB C device to a laptop or Mac. It works charging my MacBook. It looks like it will charge any other kind of laptop with the right connection or Android too.

Really sturdy replacement for my USB-C connector on my MacBook Air 2020!
I've been having issues with my USB-C connections on my MacBook Air recently, so have been looking for a sturdy replacement that is ideally magnetic. I really miss the old MagSafe connectors for how reliable they were! The actual device is a little bulky compared to the standard MagSafe connection, but it seems very sturdy once connected! This is much better than another brand I tried recently, where the exposed pins broke within a week. Thankfully, the connections within this cable aren't exposed and actually look pretty robust! Remember, this is only a small plug, you will need an actual USB-C cable to actually use it!

Great little item
This is a great little item. Early days but it seems to be well made and sturdy. The extra tip is brilliant as I can leave that in my phone while the other one is in my laptop. The magnet is pretty strong and I have no trouble making the connection. Would recommend.

Laptop saver
This type of magnetic adaptor became an absolute necessity when Apple discontinued MagSafe on their MacBooks in favour of USB-C power. Apple have since made a rare admission that this was an error and brought back MagSafe to the current MacBook line-up, however there are plenty of MacBooks - and other brands - out there with USB-C power as the only option.I cannot count the number of times a magnetic connector has saved my computer from crashing off a table, it must be a weekly occurrence. If you have a USB-C powered laptop then you need one of these. It is well made and the magnet disengages at a sensible force keeping the cable well attached but releasing if snagged. Although some other adaptors support PD 240W the 140W that can be provided through this adaptor is still plenty for fast charging modern laptops. The magnetic piece that lives permanently in the USB-C port does of course stick out a little, but is hardly noticeable on something the size of a laptop and a minor downside given the benefits. There is also a second USB-C fitting included so you can have two devices prepped for use with the adaptor. The current price of £11.50 makes this good value.

It's nice to see this adapter ship with an extra insert so you can charge more devices
I do love these magnetic adapters, if you have enough you can make charging your devices a lot easier, especially if the charging port is in a bit of an awkward position. As an example of why it's helpful, I currently mount my phone on a stand which holds it upright so the screen is visible, but there's no charging built in. The bottom is accessible and I can plug a USB C cable into there, but I basically have to do that then mount the phone. With an insert in the phone, and a right angled cable, I'm able to easily wave the cable near the insert and it will magnetically attach quite easily.I've found that most of these brands will work with each other's inserts, including this one (although I can't practically test the data speeds or highest power charging since I don't have devices that require that much power. 140 watts isn't the highest USB specification but it's more than enough for the majority of phones and tablets available today that I can find. I think only an actual laptop would want the top 240 watt specification. My hope is that all the inserts have nothing to do with charging or data speed and it's the cable and main part of the adapter that limit that but I don't know the answer to that. I do have some of these that are rated for the top spec, so it's certainly possible.I haven't had any problems with this version and I really do like that they've shipped two inserts. Most of the adapters, and the cables with the magnetic system built in, ship with just one insert meaning your cable now only works with one device. I think it's better to have more inserts, considering that I have a phone, multiple power banks, earbuds, headphones and more that I charge with USB C. Basically all small electronics is USB C now, which is a triumph. But of course, some of those devices have the port on the back, or somewhere else that's awkward.Overall, while this doesn't meet the top USB specification, given the two inserts, I think this is a good price. Be careful when choosing right angled adapters though, because there's two different directions they can be arranged in - one of which like this, has the connector at 90 degrees to the other. My phone is facing me right now, and the cable I normally use sticks out of the front, which is good for this application. If I used that in a laptop though, it would stick straight up in the air. If I used this adapter, the cable would point left or right to one side of the phone, or it would run toward me on a laptop, or toward the back of the laptop. This can make a port more or less accessible, depending on which style of cable or adapter you use.Another example is that my chargers in the mains extension lead under my desk don't have a lot of clearance. A USB charger that sticks up out of that socket, isn't far from the desktop, so a right angled cable can work better there - but also can obscure the other ports in a multiport charger. Basically, just think about where you're using it before you buy any right angled adapter.
