Great deal for simple lighting
I was skeptical as to whether this would provide adequate lighting and I am pleasantly surprised. Powered by a watch battery, this little rig works great! Works great for all my macro lens needs and is much cheaper than a lens light ring. The biggest pro is the portability and ease of use. Throw it in your camera bag and it’s a handy little tool!

More of a fill light than something to light an entire scene
It works. It's a light. It seems bright enough when you turn it on and shine it on something, but don't get your hopes up too much. I had hoped that it would add enough light so that I could use a higher shutter speed or F stop, but really what my camera usually does unless I tell it otherwise is use a lower ISO. So I'll get something like 1/40 sec, F-2.8, ISO 1200 instead of 1/40, F-2.8, ISO 2000. Don't plan on lighting dark subjects with this, it just isn't that bright. Maybe 10 lumens for each light on high, I'd guess, 5 on low. What it does do is add some fill light. I usually shoot ambient light anyways, so I think I'm ok with this. Maybe in the future I'll get something brighter, but for now, this is fine. I might have been better served using a small clip-on book light attached to the lens hood...but I didn't think of that until after I'd bought this.

Handy and Inexpensive Macro light
I had a nearly identical unit from Olympus for my E-M5 which took its power from the camera. When I upgraded to an E-M1 I was very annoyed that the new camera did not have the power connection to use this little light. Fortunately, I found this one which has its own battery and works with any camera. The arms are not long enough to work with an elaborate bellows rig but it works in most standard macro lenses, including the Olympus 60mm Macro. It does not put out a lot of light but you can normally use fairly long exposures when doing macro work. Color balance appears to be fine using the camera's auto-white. Two lights with individual brightness controls allows for nice shadow control. Finding something cheap and effective in photographic equipment is always wonderful!
