Best wool blanket under $$75 on Amazon
I don't get all these pp complaining about smell ... maybe because I wash them w ' Dirty Labs ' or 'The Laundress' wool shampoo as soon as I get them & hang them outside all day to dry ... but all I get is wet or dry wool smell . I have a 22 ft Tipi w 3 beds & use it year round & have tried many brands from 80% to 100% wool ( & these are 90%-100% not 80%) I like these best . Like most inexpensive wool blankets some are a percentage recycled wool which is a little closer to ' felted / condensed wool ' than fluffy expensive wool blankets .... but that's why they are as inexpensive as they are as well .The 100% wool throws are amazing & a little more plush ( & always sell out 1st ) & the 100% virgin blankets are the same ( the heavy 100% non virgin ones almost have a ribbed vs consistent feel of the weave ) .In winter we pile them on our beds when we let the fire go out & w wool being ' self cleaning ' the smell of smoke comes out hung in wind ... unlike cotton (or any other fabric ). I seem to always need more coz if we have a guest that loves them they always seem to get one to take home !The only part I DONT like is they sell out coz they ARE the best ones & then I'm looking on eBay to find more !

soft, warm, comfortable blanket
This blanket is great. It is soft and warm, does not have any bad smells or shedding. It can be washed by hand if needed, but I've just aired it outside, since I haven't gotten it dirty. It is nice that hand washing is possible if needed, since dry cleaning is expensive. The blanket is the perfect size and the design of the stitching is perfect. This is a 100% virgin wool blanket, yet it is less expensive than many blankets that have only a small percentage of wool.

My second Ektos blanket
I've been waiting for Ektos to restock their 100% wool throws and I'm very happy I finally snagged one. I bought another Ektos blanket previously (90% wool, twin size) and loved it so much, but I needed one that was smaller in size for my summer camping trips and Ektos is one of the only brands out there that does throw sized wool blankets. There's one or two other online companies, but their material descriptions make me hesitant to believe it's all real wool or anything close. If you've ever dealt with 90-100% wool fabric much before, you can tell Ektos blankets are the fabric they say they are. This 100% wool throw is sewn well on the edges, my blanket doesn't have any imperfections or initial manufacturing errors. It smells great (I really enjoy the smell of fresh wool, but I'm an outdoorsman) and feels wonderful, too. And for the price, you're never going to beat it. I have no idea why wool prices are insane, but I'm happy there's at least one company that doesn't price gouge for 100% wool blankets that aren't old US Navy/Army surplus resells. I was in the Navy for 9 years and still remember those low quality grey wool Navy blankets onboard the ship; they kept you warm but weren't even close to being as soft as these Ektos blankets.Remember, wool blankets don't need washed nearly as much as non-wool fabrics due to wools natural antimicrobial properties. You can spot treat the wool here and there and when you do finally end up giving it a full wash, you can do it by hand pretty easily. A bathtub, some wool-approved detergent, and then a good ole fashioned clothes line is the way to go. You can even just spread it out on the floor after washing so it doesn't shrink if you don't have a clothes line.If you're someone like me who spends hours researching every little thing when you're shopping for something and today you're trying to find the best wool blanket for the right price, you found it.

Smells like diesel
I posted an honest review about the blanket stating it's pros and cons. It smells awful washed it, and it still smells awful. Aired it out in the sun for 2 days still smells awful. Then my review was rejected for hate speech. I can't recommend this blanket, and am loosing all faith in amazon reviews. Blanket is soft and good weight, but no amount of washing or airing out blanket helps with smell. It's so bad if u touch it u will be carrying the smell on you for the rest of the day. I wouldn't let it anywhere near my bed, I wouldn't put in my vehicle unless you want it to smell like a truck stop diesel pump. Really bad. Unacceptable and completely dishonest. Note the smell is not lanolin, it is chemicals I worked on a farm growing up and am very familiar with what that smell is. Pretty bad when u can't post a honest review to save people from the same experience, then get accused of hate speech for your efforts. Shame on whoever did that.

Heavy, warm, rugged
I'm an avid minimalist RV camper. I've been looking for the right wool blanket for my RV. I have a few Pendleton blankets which are certainly nice but not nearly as thick and more than twice the price. And I have a few Poyet wool blankets which are fantastic but a bit fancy for a camp blanket. I almost went with the Arcturus to save a few buck but decided to give this one a try in spite of a few negative reviews based on smell. I'm very sensitive to any chemical smells. I was traveling in cold wet conditions when the blanket arrived at my camp. Right out of the package it went on my bunk and I had no odor problem. It's far heavier than my Pendleton blankets and more rugged than the Poyets. It's also longer lengthwise than the Arcturus blanket which helps tremendously. This quickly became my favorite blanket. For the price it's an absolute steal.
