Chapin 98142: 40-Gallon Water Storage Tank, Utility Water Tank, Water Supply, for Farms, Acreage, Gardens, Orchards, Translucent White

I have this setup for water transport to and from our coops. I can get a little more that the stated 15 gallons, so it has made my life much easier. It's not too heavy for the 4-wheeler when filled with water and it fits perfectly on the rear rack. I purchased a cutoff valve and a potable water hose for it as well. No leaks at this point and it seems to be of good quality.I did have to wash it out several times in order to remove plastic pieces from the manufacturing process, but I always wash my tanks with soap before use anyway. Very fair price when compared to the local feed store products of the same size. Let's see how well it holds up to heavy use and it is protected from the elements when not in use.

This was a great price for a little water tank for me on my property. I also had a problem at first with it leaking at the seal. What o figured out is you must remove the plug, set the rubber gasket and cap then screw they all on super tight. Then add your plug or the recommended attachment with shut off and get that on super tight as well. It took me a couple of tries with just a little water to make sure I had a good seal. I’ve since filled the tank several times and not had an issue with any leaks. Hope this helps others

Great for the price and I got for pressure washing cars. I’m able to do about 4 cars if I ration the water properly. Great use for a new business without the SUV/truck. This tank fits in my Tesla Model 3. Also high quality and easy to configure.

Good tank but there is a leak from the cap i recommend getting some o rings from harbor freight like 10$ for a lot of different variety and putting lock tight or thread seal tape on the tanks thread and put it on tightly and that should fix the leak ,it fixed mine

Seemed to be of good quality until I threaded a garden hose onto the spiget and it immediately fell off. Even tried Teflon tape but the threads are just not conventional threads. The threads are terrible and don’t fit conventional hose connections. Worthless for trying to water trees with a hose using my tractor.

Excellent 40-gallon tank. After reading reviews about leaks at the drain and plastic particles from the manufacturing process, I first used a flat file to smooth the surface on the tank where the drain cap screws on. Secondly, I completely rinsed the tank. Finally, I went to Ace Hardware and bought a variety pack that contained two 2-inch O-rings; the same diameter, but slightly thicker (item number 43607) for $3.67. Then I installed a 3/4" Brass Garden Hose Shut Off Valve (same threads that fit the drain cap). Put everything together and filled the tank above the drain to check for leaks. No leaks! I have been using this tank constantly for fresh potable water at my off-grid place for over a month with no problems. Will likely buy another tank to transport the water from the water source to my off-grid place.

Great price for a 40 gallon tank, but yes it does leak. So you will need to solve the leak issue. Other than that, seems to work well enough. Just wish they could figure out how to deal with a leaky valve.

This storage tank is perfect for hauling 30 gallons of water. The only thing that could be improved in is that there is not a cutoff valve on the discharge. But that is readily fixed by buying one at a hardware store.
