The best hub for macmini 4 for those on budget constrain.
I paired it with my new mac mini 4. Used all available ports for my hard disk and SsD, all thunderbolts and usb’s for my audio interface, midi & connection with keyboards and hdmi(2 monitors). This hub performs well, and it does not produce much heat and booting time is less than 3 secs. Highly recommended & worth the money.

Exactly what I was looking for
Reviews that say the dock doesn't support HDCP for Netflix are incorrect. Tested on an M4 Pro MacBook Pro. Also, instead of installing the driver from the manufacturer, open a thermal and run `sudo kextload -b com.apple.driver.usb.realtek8153patcher`, enter your admin password, and perform a restart.

Works great, but not 100% as expected
My specs: MacBook Pro, M3 Pro chip with 18gb RamNeed: I wanted a one-cord solution to plug into my (aging poorly) two monitors that I've had for work for far too long (1080!), have access to other accessories, etc.The GoodPower AND connections in one Thunderbolt cable! AWESOME!The not so great1. The packaging for this dock was terrible. It looks like the dock was bouncing around a bit, as the cardboard (thin and weak) was broken in a few places. Unless this was possibly used by someone else and returned (def. possible), the packaging was very sub-par. That said, everything worked and no dents.2. I couldn't use the two HDMI cables out from the dock! Now, I haven't researched this (and I have better things to do) but perhaps this was due to them being high-def (1080) only? What happens is when both are plugged in via HDMI, they mirror-only. My solution: use a USB-C <-> HDMI converter to the dock (see second photo). The computer could then see them as different monitors, and therefore be used as planned. It was really too bad because I wasn't expecting to use another adapter on this device. Lucky for me, I had it handy. So if you're looking to connect two monitors to this one device - triple check things beforehand. It sounds like there could be some differences based on your Mac Air/Pro model but in my case: I needed the extra HDMI <-> USB-C converter.

Awesome customer service!
Received a faulty power adapter and won’t turn on… but the customer service team were exceptionally well at handling it and very responsive in communication! They sent a replacement as soon as possible.(Update) I managed to fix the power adapter on my own and get the hub to work: functional wise: it works as advertised with proper thunderbolt speeds.

Abruptly died after 2 days
Loved this thing when I got it all set up. Elegant, compact, felt sturdy, smart port layout. Got my new desk setup all tidy with wires tamed/zip-tied, unit Velcro’s to side of shelf. Monitor, MacBook, speakers, peripheral charging cables all set. Worked perfectly!!! …for two days. Then, after working at my desk for a few hours today, my monitor went dark and the power on my Mac switched to battery. The little green light on the Wavlink was now red. No amount of rebooting, recycling, unplugging/plugging, resting, chanting, or praying would make it work. There was no “user error” event like a kick to the socket or loose plug…just poof! Dead. After re-looking at reviews I see that problem has occurred with several other folks. Now I gotta unhook everything, send it back, and find a more reliable replacement. Oi vay. I wish I could trust pursuing a replacement but I don’t trust the design/manufacturing.

Great to have
I now own 5 of these. They work great whether they are plugged in to power or the PC. My PC has 4 USB slots, these turn that into 16 devices that can interact with my computer. The 5th one is plugged into the living-room TV for the devices connected to it. And with a push of a button I can activate what is on or off WITHOUT having to mess around plugging or unplugging cords.I just wish the cords on these were at least 3-5 feet long.

All plugged in ports worked as expected, issues with connectivity.
The unit worked as expected with Thunderbolt and USB ports. Allowing the MACBOOK PRO M4 to be removed from dock by removing single cable. The HDMI to 27" HP monitor worked fine. The hard wired Ethernet worked well.No issue with HP USB connected printer and a with a portable 19" ASUS monitor.I do not know if loading the drive is/was necessary as everything was working prior to DOCK driver on the MAC.It is in the second day of operation. I will post if any issue.Change in rating - 03/28/2025.Lowered rating to 4 start with following issue. After MACBOOK is on sleep or logged out the HDMI monitor disconnects from the PC and require power cycle to WL-UTD45 to reconnect. It should not.WAVLINK does not have PHONE TECHNICAL SUPPORT, only email. Lowered the rating to 3.

It transfers fast
The 3.0 hub has been getting a workout since I’ve received it. I’m not gonna tell you about graphs and charts but I was using a 2.0 hub for file transfer because most of my flash drives were 2.0 and they transferred at a rate of 9 to about 30 mb that also would be the rate with the 3 flash drives that were 3.0 from laptop USB port to 2.0 hub. Then I bought a external hard drive same thing it was a 3.0 and transferring 3.0 to 3.0 using a 2.0 hub was still not fast so I decided to look for a 3.0 hub and came across this hub and man it transfers 3.0 to 3.0 in a matter of seconds no longer than a couple of minutes depending on size of files being moved around the speed went from a slow poke crawl to my top speed was 170 more or less around 140 to 150 mb have not been disappointed with this usb hub
