Well engineered, easy to install and effective mechanical safety interlock for generator power
The TB-200A is a well engineered, easy to install and effective mechanical safety interlock for adding generator service to your breaker box. Everything needed to install the interlock is included. It was easy to install and works very well. The labels provided are also helpful and add to the safety. It is extremely important to have an effective interlock if you are not going to use a transfer switch for generator power. I installed the interlock on a Thomas and Betts breaker panel (TBB20 40-40 model); it's a perfect fit. For this interlock, you need to have a panel in which the main breaker turns on and off in a horizontal direction with the ganged generator breaker in the top left position (see picture). This product is a great choice.

Works Great
Wanted an input to the house to connect a portable generator. This is the best way to do that. It makes it impossible to have the main switch bringing power into the house from the lines and the generator input both in the on position. This is very important to protect the guys who work outside on the lines after a storm as back feeding the main lines can really hurt someone. Don't do it! Some people I have heard of run the generator through their dryer outlet...very very dangerous. The main switch to the box must be in the off position before running the generator.

easy to install
much quicker and easier to install than a transfer switch, and you don't have to contact the electric company for power disconnect while it is installed.

It does the job
Pros:A simple to install solution for a generator hook-up.Much less costly solution than a separate auxiliary panel while allowing the user to select which circuits to keep from the existing panel depending on the circumstances.Cons:Pricey for what it is, but... it gives you a safe and legal hook-up.

Excellent kit! Could not improve.
Perfect fit, great instructions. The kit left nothing out in anyway. The only thing they didn't include was a sharpie to mark the holes and a drill to spin the included drill bit. Love it.

well engineered
Considering what the part actually is, it seems very expensive. But it is well engineered, fit and operated as expected, and does the job if you don’t wish the expense of an automatic switchover.Do ensure you carefully take the measurements and purchase the exact kit you need. Don’t just go on the description of the panel(s) it fits. There isn't a much margin for error if you purchase the wrong one.

Make sure you do your research on which panel you are installing this on. There are MANY options.
I removed a 10 circuit Reliant throw over switch, and installed this device on my own panel. This was the most inexpensive logical device to allow me to run all rated circuits in the house. It went in easy and delivered as promised.

Awesome idea
I asked a licensed electrician friend to install it and it works like a charm.
