Exercise and Play Time for an Active Older Kitten
The media could not be loaded. Our older kitten will request that we turn this toy on by sitting near it and batting the "mouse" with her paw. If she wants to play but we're in the middle of something, we can turn the toy on and she'll be engaged for a half hour at a time. She will pounce again and again. If she somehow knocks it off kilter, it's very durable, and we just set it upright again. She's gotten so into it, she's torn off the mouse and completely dismantled the device. It still works when we put it back together and turn it on again. It's run for many hours on the first set of batteries we put in. This was a good purchase!

My cat cannot get enough of this toy. This is my 12th one.

Cheap, But My Cat Loves It
This toy has kept my cat entertained for an hour at a time. She loves to play and pounce on it. I took a star off because the plastic rod comes out very easily from the base, and the piece that holds the "tail" and the rod together came apart after day one. I superglued them back together and it's as good as new. So I would just be prepared to have to keep fixing it if you do buy this. But for me, it has been worth it because it helps to distract my very clingy and bossy cat!

Cats enjoyed it when it worked, but it is flimsy and will burn through batteries fast
I got this for my cats after seeing how much my friend's cat loved his Cat's Meow. My two cats are young, hyper, and very distracting when I am trying to wfh. This seemed like the perfect interactive toy to distract my cats when I needed to focus in. At first it was great. My cat's would go berserk over it. However, in only the first month big problems came up that ultimately made me drop my rating to a 2-star review. My complaints with the device are as follows:1) It is not durable.A good cat toy (especially an interactive one) should be able to withstand abuse. After 2 weeks of use, the electric motor struggled to rotate the wand. The ball at the end of the wand would get stuck to the yellow fabric mat causing it not move. This got worse overtime after my cat chewed on the ball at the end of the wand (see pictures) causing jagged edges that would get stuck on the fabric.2) The batteries are a big pain and wasteful. This device burns through batteries quickly, the type of batteries are uncommon (big C cell batteries), and the batteries are not cheap. If you use this regularly/daily, the batteries will run out in under 2-weeks. I seems very wasteful both from a environmental perspective as well as a cost perspective to have to replace these batteries all the time. This device really should have been rechargeable, and I would have been okay paying more upfront vs having to rebuy batteries over and over again.3) The electric motor is weak.As I discussed in my first complaint, the motor constantly gets stuck and struggles to rotate the wand. It has little to no torque and will make an annoying whining sound when it inevitably gets stuck. Even after sanding down the wand to prevent it getting stuck, the motor still struggled. After some investigating I found that if pressure is applied to the top of the toy it may mess up the motor. This is yet another example of poor design. When a cat is playing with this toy, where do you think they are going to pounce? The top of the toy, duh. I feel like this interactive toy was designed with good intentions but never actually tested with cats. Either that or it's just a cheap cash grab. Either way, I do not recommend this toy to other cat owners. I did give it 2-stars vs 1-star however because I think with the right redesign this toy could be great. Before experiencing durability issues it was a huge success with my cats.

Kitten toy
My cats are a little older and not used to playing like a cat should play and they don't even look at the toy. They don't like it & have no interest in it. I bet it would work great for kittens but not for my older cats.

Safe toy. Our cat played with it immediately.
We have had it less than week, and my cat loves it. She is mostly an outdoor cat, but when she comes in this is her second favorite inside activity; eating is #1. She loves to drag it around until she pulls out the ball. 2 week update, our cat plays with Cat's Meow several times a day. This is a VERY SAFE toy for pets, children and furniture. The rotating arm stops with slight pressure or resistance.

Maybe not for the real hard players
I got a “like new” used one because that typically means bought and returned immediately, and it does seem perfectly OK, but I bought it because they’ve already broken one. I hate the sticks because my evil cat gets some kick out of hiding them. I have actually bought spare sticks at this point. I also have the Smarty Kat one and this is NOT way better. I read another review and don’t know where that comes from. For one, they’re almost identical and smarty kat is cheaper. The material is flimsy on the smarty kat, but the stick has kind of a fake mouse hanging from the string, so it gets wound up and it gets unwound and it probably depends on the cat which one they would prefer. I will say the stick falls out of both without any cat touching it . And the less flimsy material sometimes makes this one fall out. I really wish there was a solution where they could be pulled out if the cat really tries, but they don’t fall out easily because this is one of those things where you get it because you spoil your cat and then they love it so you may even buy another when they break it, but, maybe buy stock in batteries because if you’re the type to keep turning it on for your cat, they both go through a ridiculous number. I also have the one where the little string comes in and out, which they do love as much as these, but I think for some reason it cost even more and it has the same battery issue. Honestly, the batteries are possibly the most expensive part. Also, one person said their cat chewed the red part away in a day, which is a little crazy, but mine is attempting it & in over a month with me watching it has gotten farther than I’d like, but you might not want to ignore them***** Since I taped the stick in on the smarty kat, I’ve decided not to try that on this one because not being able to pull it out meant my cat destroyed the toy trying to pull it out.(I hope if someone reads nothing else, they read my suggestion that trying to secure the stick might not work out)
