I learned a lot from this book. As a Christian I have never been exposed on this level to other religions. It was wonderful to experience this book - so many insights. I didn’t even know about Islamic Art and Architecture – fascinating indeed.

I am really enjoying the series of beginners' introductions to the world's major religions. Having read the Understanding Catholicism, I was happy to see this new book in the series by author David M. Eaton. The book description mentions that few religions are more misunderstood than Islam, and I was drawn to the the statement on the book cover that through understanding history we can encourage inclusivity and peace in the world. I particularly liked the reading about the history and background of Islam and the different groups within it, which I had always found quite confusing, as well as my favourite part of the book - Islamic art, culture and architecture. This book has cleared up many of my questions. Highly recommended.

The author does a great job of providing a comprehensive overview of Islam's major practices and beliefs. It is written in a very easy to read way and isn't 'preachy'. Very good for anyone who wants to understand more about what Islam is all about.

Such a wonderful insight into Islam. As someone who doesn’t practice any religion but has a human curiosity to understand, appreciate and respect the faiths of others, this book was the perfect choice to grow my knowledge of this peaceful faith. Simple to follow, insightful and so informative. I’ve learned so much and feel I can better appreciate those who follow the Quran. The book is welcoming, non-preachy, and breaks down concepts simply. A great read for anyone of any age, or denomination, who wants to know more about Islam.
