Fantastic, with a few things to know!
Fantastic low carb rice replacement with a few things to know! I really love shiritake/Konjac products as low carb/calorie starch replacements and this product is no exception, however, there are a few things folks should know when using them. The first word is rinse rinse rinse. You'll notice that all shiritake products come packed in water and have a notable fishy funk. This can be very easily removed by thoroughly rinsing with cold water in a strainer. Specific to this product is the shape. It's advertised as a rice replacement, and while it certainly serves that purpose to an extent, I've found that it really feels a bit more like quinoa in terms of its size and shape, or perhaps a very very short grain rice. Like all shiritake products, it's basically completely flavorless, and that's a good thing! It's a blank canvas that allows you to add the flavorings and seasonings of your choice, which it takes on extremely well and means it can be used in a wide range of cuisines. So far, I've used it to make Thai style peanut fried rice, a mushroom risotto like dish, a rice salad and as an accompaniment to some Indian spiced chicken. Do also bear in mind that you're not going to get the super fluffy quality you get from traditional rice, again, it's more like a grain in that respect. Overall, if you're looking for a starch replacement that's low calorie, diverse and flexible, this really is a fantastic product. It's quick and easy to prepare and helps it feel like you're not missing out on your favorite parts of a complete meal when eating in a calorie deficit.

What happened to this product.,
My recent batch of this product was completely different! This is my second attempt to review. My last batch was a waste of money with 6 pouches being filled with mostly water and the ‘ rice’ was different, very small. I find it very weird that my last review is not posted, where are the negatives reviews? I’m a verified customer.

Nice Product, But Too Many Steps to Prepare It
It has no taste of its own, so it absorbs the taste of whatever you cook it with. Nice! Having to soak it, strain it, rinse it then strain away the excess water, roll it in paper towel to soak up the rest of the water, then cook it was way too much prep time IMO. Also, I couldn’t find any cooking times, temperatures or any other instructions on the packaging. Cooked one package and gave the rest away.

A good supplement for regular rice
There was a diet change in our household that needed a rice replacement. Rice is very high in carbs. The texture is a bit different and the flavor is bland by itself. Once I added it to our stir fry, it worked very well. It was easy to use too.

Healthy treat. Great for lunches at work. Not too heavy.
I have shopped everywhere and tried all sorts of brands. Not sure how they're so different. This one is my favorite though. Healthiest snack you can eat. Its filling too. Absolutely give it a try at the price.

Not exactly rice, but I'll take it
My husband is type 2 diabetic. He's Asian, so cutting out rice just aint happenin'. This depressed him, so we found this solution! This "rice" comes in a bag of liquid, inside of another sealed bag. Very secure to prevent spills! When you first open it, it has an odd fishy smell to it. Yikes. But after rinsing, seasoning and cooking, the odor is gone. The texture is almost thickly gelatinous. Almost like an edible silicone lol. Once you get past that and come to terms with it not being actual rice, you'll get over it.To sum things up, he likes it! It doesn't raise his blood sugar and he finally gets to enjoy some of his favorite dishes again!

An okay rice replacement.
The flavor is neutral, you need to pair it with a flavorful main course.
