Bought this for my daughter for her overseas trip. She loved it. It was small enough to pack and travel with. She said it was very sturdy but lightweight.

This sketch board is very sturdy. The wood is nice quality, it’s very stable while on my tripod. I can use it for watercolors or sketching on location. The magnets are very strong and hold the watercolor tin in place with no wiggle. I’m very happy with this purchase, its portability is key for me, also that it’s under 2 pounds. It’s a great value for the money. It comes with a slide plate for a tripod that has that interlock mechanism. I have a Mactrem tripod that uses a quick release plate so I didn’t need the plate it came with which would’ve been perfect if I had that type of tripod.

Great idea for watercolor painters! Lightweight, fastens well to a tripod, very stable. Excellent hinges, well put together. The magnets could be stronger, but they will hold a metal palette in place. I use a large clip to suspend my water container (it has a handle) from the side. You can take this anywhere and set up in minutes. If it were just a couple inches wider, that would be good.

Just received and very pleased. Nice finish, light weight but sturdy, strong magnets hold metal palette well, hinges work great, perfect size. Highly recommend.

Receipt, yesterday, design Kool & boards very lite, strong. However lil bolts short, ineffective, no lockwashers.. Tiny imbedded mags too wea... May keep(?), implement nu bolts & LocTite. BTW, as a Plein Air stand, utilizing medium stationary clamps, appears to enhance as wet carrier for 2 boards.. A real bonus for overall PA lightness. Multi use possibilities here...

It is way smaller than I envisioned. While the wood is in okay shape and it seems sturdy enough, it seems to heavy to put on a standard tripod. Though I cannot check because there is no attachment. What immediately made me know it was not a keeper is how the hinges are so tight I thought I'd break them trying to open it. I opened and closed it a few times to see if it would loosen up, but it just made them bend a bit and put so much stress on the wood, I figure this will break in no time. As a watercolor artist, I was also not happy that it cannot open flat.

Easy to use/attach. Smooth with secure hinges. Satisfied with easel.

Well, if you didn’t know who Jim gurney was go ahead and look them up he’s famous for creating an easel and tripod that is magnetic so you can put a tin water cup and a tin watercolor set and paint virtually anywhere. And it was missing in the market until this company made this fantastic item which was, a dream! Because I didn’t have to make it myself. And it has all the great features. The hinges work great. They’re sturdy they give you the folded up position and it lays flat like you seen the photos. It went on the tripod as a solid, well-made, well engineered Bargain compared to the amount of money you would take you to build this yourself. I strongly recommend it.
