Great chair! White was a mistake, as expected.
Love this chair so far. I've had it for two days and my back is already feeling so much better.I've had an expensive "ergonomic" Herman Miller Embody chair for a decade (and a similar chair before that) and my back always hurt. I usually sit cross-legged (because of knee issues) so I don't think it's the chair's fault. I finally decided to find something appropriate for the way I like to sit and decided to give this one a try.I have a standing desk so I've raised it and am sitting quite close to it, with most of the chair/my legs underneath the desk. This position naturally allows me to keep my elbows on the desktop and my back straight and it's incredibly comfortable, even when I switch to "kneeling" or other positions besides cross-legged. So I think I've definitely found the right format for me and encourage anyone who sits cross-legged to give the format a shot.As for this particular chair, it has its pros and cons.Pros:--- It was easy to put together; the hardest part was pressing the screws down with enough force to push them through the thick fabric to get them started.--- It feels very sturdy and well made all around so far.--- I like the ability to tilt the top seat (which other chairs of this format didn't have).--- The "leather" feels nice and soft and the padding is quite thick for a chair of this price.Cons:--- It's a bit hard to... "mount", for lack of a better word; it takes some effort to get into it. I have kind of figured out the best way to get up into it though and I think I'll get better at it with a few more days' practice. (I also imagine it'd be much harder to get into if I weren't on carpet so be aware if you're on wood/tile/etc. that it will likely roll while you're trying to hop on it).--- Like any padded chair, it does start to make my butt hurt after a few hours, but I've found a few positions that last longer than others, such as sitting further back with my thighs on the seat a bit more and part of my butt hanging off the back. (It's more comfortable than it sounds.) Plus, it's not too difficult to adjust my position when needed. It's probably important to note here that I have a sizeable bum. /shrug--- I got the white one to match my office knowing it'd get dirty fairly quickly but it's already stained after day two... whoops. And I'd only sat in it in white socks and a very old pair of joggers that have long since lost any dye transfer they might have had. It just gets dirty very easily. Since I knew this would be an issue and am not surprised, I'm fine with it but if you're at all sensitive to it, opt for black instead.--- Also note that it's more cream than white, if that matters to you.Neutral:--- While sitting in it, the whole chair swivels easily at the base but the top seat doesn't budge individually. You'll swivel the whole chair no matter what. And while the top seat does "swivel" when you're not seated on it, it has quite a bit of resistance and you'll need to use some force to get it to move. I definitely prefer this overall! I don't want the top seat to move while I'm in it. I want to spin the whole chair around (to get out of it when I'm done at my desk) so it works perfectly for me. But if you're looking for the top seat to swivel on its own while seated on it, you'll not get that with this chair so I thought I'd mention that.Overall, I'm really glad I picked this up both because the format has really worked for me so far and because this particular chair seems well made and like it will last a while (aside from the colour picking up dirt). If something goes awry, I'll come back and update, but otherwise you can assume I've continued loving this chair.

Dissappointed
I was very excited to get this chair. It seemed like it would be perfect for my needs. This was my second attempt at finding the perfect work chair. Unfortunately, an important part was not welded properly so I could not assemble it properly. The piece that you sit on (the smaller shelf) is attached to a metal piece. This is connected to the hydraulic piston that raises/lowers and tilts. The Larger shelf (the piece that you kneel on) has a hole towards the back that aligns with another metal piece that holds the other hydraulic piston that connects to the wheels. The hydraulic piston attached to the smaller shelf is supposed to sit snugly in the metal piece attached to the larger shelf. The piston attached to the smaller shelf did NOT sit in the metal piece. I did try to insert the piston in the piece with the larger shelf upside down. It inserted perfectly.Being that the metal attachments are welded, there is no way to fix this yourself (unless you have the resources and abilities).I did reach out to the company attempting to get a replacement piece. The rest of the chair was ok. The leather is soft and it is beautiful. The company gave me 2 options to rectify the issue. I chose to have it refunded to me. So sadly, I am still on the hunt for the perfect work chair.

The tilt for the top cushion is what was needed
This is my second chair like this. I am not a sit still type of person and the first chair was very similar except I couldn’t tilt or raise/ lower the top cushion. This chair fits the bill. The bottom cushion is made with 1/2” plywood- and while it IS strong or enough for my 6’ 270lbs, I will probably add a piece of 3/4” plywood for added stability! The chair is nicely balanced and easy to get on and off of (but I had practice with my last chair). I will say also, the top raise/ lower feature while essential for me, is finicky in that you have to “lock” the height before you sit on it otherwise the cylinder shrinks back down.Gave this 4 stars only because of the thinner plywood for the base- which leaves it a bit rocky.

Exactly what we wanted
Super easy to put together, super sturdy. My husband loves that its versatile, sitting on the top or bottom half. Both have adjustable parts. However do be cautions of the material, it did scuff readonly and we are not sure why.

Doesn’t last.
I totally loved this chair for all of 4 months. Now I feel like I am sitting on a wobble cushion. Drives me nuts. I purposely got a chair with a high weight limit well above my weight. Very disappointed.

You get what you pay for!
Is OK, works the way it's supposed to.Original version runs $900 and up so this is the low budget distant relative.Quality of the materials is mediocre but the price is low, so what can you expect. The cylinder covers all arrived broken, made of flimsy flexible plastic.Keeping it until I fall off it and die.

Horrible
Like others, I found that the top seat is wobbly with nothing that really keeps it in place. Also, I thought this would be a really versatile chair that would allow me to sit in several different positions; in reality, it's just plain awkward no matter how I sit. I am not a larger/tall person (5'2) but I can barely fit my legs on the chair when trying to sit cross-legged (my preferred position). Trying to sit on the wobbly top seat is bad enough, but if I try to sit on the top seat with my legs bent and my feet tucked under the top seat, the adjustment handles are in the way. Also, the entire chair doesn't go low enough for my desk. Terrible all around, I will be returning it.

Ingenious
Ingenious design, I really like this chair and the ability to sit in different positions while I’m working.*Update* - I had to buy a chair pad for the smaller upper seat, it gets uncomfortable sitting on the seat for too long
