Great shave.
I have been a lifelong safety razor shaver. My grandson encouraged me to try this electric razor. I was reluctant because previous electric razors had been negative experiences. But this Braun electric razor has been great. No skin irritation and a nice smooth shave.

Outstanding
Really close to a razor, I had the 7 bought the pro 9 with bare accessories, just the cleaning station that cleans and dry I shave everyday with it.About 2 and half minutes This pro 9 is great and I would buy it again

Not quite ok
I was a little unhappy with the closeness of the shave I got with this shaver. It’s ok for a fix up but it’s not nearly as good as the blade shaver with cream.

Works
I've had a Panasonic Electric Shaver and Trimmer for Men ES8103S shaver before - and it worked way past the warranty time. Like 10 years after I bought it!!! I had to change the shaver head once since the foil has some little holes, but it was holding up just fine. AND it was still working in 2023, when I decided I should probably splurge for a newer shaver.Got to change my review to 5 stars. The shaver is still fine - as good as electric razor goes. I just need to make sure the outlet I'm charging it in - is actually worked and not tripped off. Thank you Braun warranty folks who reminded me of that :)

Not quite as good as Panasonic 5 blade razors
I use this as both a face and head shaver, so keep that in mind. I use Cremo shave cream with any shaver I use. Also, I've used quite a few models of shavers, and IMO Panasonic 5 blade units are a good metric to compare to.Likes: The head the pretty compact, which is good for both face and head shaving. For head shaving, compact heads are great for working near your ears and on the back of your neck. For face shaving, your nose. Battery life is as good as all of the Panasonic units I've used (3,4 and 5 blade models) and charging time is fast. Its pretty easy to clean. The blades, when new, are great for face shaving, IMO better than the Panasonic. When new. Also, I've found that with my Panasonic, I can occasionally get an ingrown hair or two on my cheeks, that never happened with the Braun. Also, the shaver can survive a drop, it accidentally fallen off my shower shelf twice and survived both drops.Dislikes: The blades aren't quite as good as Panasonics blades for head shaving. They wear out extremely fast. Panasonic blades can last almost a year, and that's with both face and head shaving. The foil on the first set of Braun blades wore out in 4 months. The foil on the second set wore out in 3, then I bought another Panasonic shaver. The compact head does mean that the blades have to do more work, so the shaver can bog down at times, where the Panasonic would power through. If you're *only* using it for face shaving, I'd recommend it. However, if there isnt a great price difference between it and a Panasonic 5 blade model, or if you also need it for a head shaver, I'd go for the Panasonic.

Switched from Panasonic now-discontinued ES8XXX series, ARCx's have too big a head and are too weak
I shave first and primarily with a Gillette Sensor (I like 2-bladed razors), then with this shaver so I don't have to shave against the grain with a blade (the Sensor) to get a totally smooth shave (minimizes 5-o'clock shadow). Being retired and staying mostly at home because of Covid-19, I can be lazy and shave only twice a week (without anyone complaining). That results in my dense beard being pretty long when I shave.I had been using the now-discontinued Panasonic ES8XXX family of 2-blade foil shavers until the batteries died. I had the battery replaced in my newest ES8XXX by the Panasonic Service Center, but decided to also consider an upgrade. I first looked at the currently available Panasonic shavers. My 8XXX ones were made in Japan, and the current ones are made in China. That is not necessarily bad (the iPhones are well-built in China), but my experience having things well-built in China requires intensive on-site QA--presumably Panasonic could provide that, but I don't know what their current standards are. For some reason, Panasonic has joined the (false IMHO) "bigger head is better" movement along with Gillette and other razor companies (4,5,6, even 7 blades!)--I find that the big-headed ARC and Gillette razor models are not well suited to shaving the upper lip and under the nose. My other concern is that I see many shavers whose descriptions say that they are intended for shaves only a few minutes long. Braun is a conspicuous exception, 50-60 minutes on a charge, allowing longer shaves of tough whiskers, especially when I don't use a razor first. All the top end shavers (and everything else) are quite expensive, as should be expected. European shavers (e.g., Braun in Germany) are made in comparatively high wage countries, which raises their prices. I am willing to pay cost-effective premium prices for premium quality products. My most trusted reviews are from Wirecutter. They recommend the Braun (recently upgraded) 7 series, and although they say that the 9 series is a little better in some respects, that is not functionally worth the price difference. Reviews of the 9 series on Amazon include a number that says they prefer the 7 series, regardless of price.I never used my Panasonic cleaning device, it takes too much room on the counter, and thus I bought the Braun series 7 version without the (even bigger) cleaning device. I clean my shavers with hot water and bought a small bottle of Braun shaver oil for occasional lubrication. Thus far, I am pleased with the performance (and cost-effectiveness) of my Braun 7020. Being a long-time user of foil shavers, I didn't have to wait for my face to "break in." I will update this review if any problems arise.
