Horse Flies Beware!
If you walk in the country along bridle paths, chances are you're a target for horse and dung flies. Absolute horrors. Himself fancied a fly whisk, like the one Jomo Kenyatta sported, to keep the darn things away. The one we chose is 'Made in England' but came from America, and this is where you must be careful. It's a beautiful thing, well crafted and up to doing the job it's made for very well. When you're calculating your expenditure, though, remember all the taxes you will have to pay, including European Tax. They double the price! Himself now strides along, flicking the whisk, free of horse-flies and being very careful not to allow our thumping great Lurcher to get hold of what has turned a waking nightmare into a real pleasure.

It is a while until riding season but a fly whisk is a pretty simple tool
I got this as a Christmas gift for my horseback riding pal because she lost hers on the trail and it looks well made (as compared to the cheap ones...). It is a while until riding season but a fly whisk is a pretty simple tool, so I figure it will work just fine.

It is like having an extra tail for the front and sides ...
VERY well made. I clipped it to my saddle to have it available for pesky biting flies on my horse while riding. Fly spray helps a bit, but wears off on longer rides. I can reach nearly every spot on my horse while in the saddle. It is like having an extra tail for the front and sides of the horse.Very handy.

Good Quality. Flies and Mosquitos Beware!
Feels like it's decent quality. A nice plump bunch of long horsehair! Great for riding, but purchased this one for sitting outdoors during mosquito season. It's plenty long enough to use while riding, but perhaps a little too long to use on the veranda without knocking my julep over. I'll give it a whirl though, but I may have to give it a little trim.

Beautiful Whisk. I wish I could have chosen the color.
Beautiful Whisk. I wish I could have chosen the color. I have a grey horse so I thought this was a white whisk. I got a sorrel. It is a quality whisk, just not a color I like.

Fell apart after 3 rides!!!
It fell apart when I finally started to use it in May. Amazon says that the return window closed in April, I bought it in March, anticipating fly season. Big mistake if they won't exchange it.The handle is well made and the hair is thick. I thought it was going to be great! I have been riding in Florida for over 20 years and a fly whisk is essential from May until October. I am so disappointed that this fly whisk started to come apart after 3 rides. I can only hope that I can get someone at Amazon to help.

Not worth it
The design is nice but i's cheaply made. The hair started falling out of the whisk the second I took it out of the box. I took it out on one ride and large strands were falling out.Do not recommend.
