I will be wearing this as an Elizabeth Swann costume. The boys want to be Caribbean Pirates, this year.I was surprised by the level of quality of this costume. It's made of a mid-weight damask that's more comparable to a tablecloth or the outer of a necktie or tux vest than to your usual run-of-the-mill Halloween costume satin, which is what I was expecting for the price. It's also fully lined and has a side zipper but no boning or anything like that.If helpful: it is a mashup of a 1770s robe à l'anglaise (front) and 1760s robe à la française (back). It's a nice compromise between the two styles. If I had to choose, I'd say it's truer to the earlier French style than the later English.I am 5'6", 195 lbs, size 16, and I ordered a 3X according to the size chart -- it was HUGE on me. Too long, too wide, too big. I will return and reorder a 2X and a 1X and report back on sizing!I ordered the gold version. It is more of a light champagne than a true gold. A color light enough that it'd be inappropriate to wear to a wedding if that helps.I am a former theatrical costume designer, and though this is not of the quality you would expect to see on Broadway, this is nonetheless a good quality costume.

I am a active time period re-enactment person and costumer and needed something last minute for an event. I will be adding embellishments and ribbons but this dress is WONDERFUL. True to size and quality for a costume company!Not pictured but INCLUDED in my shipment we’re the jewel embellishments and sleeve ribbons because I tried it on right as it was dropped at my door.I am 5ft 9in, 270ish lbs, 40D, athletic build with most of my weight carried in my middle and hips/thighs. I have broad shoulders as well.Normally I would wear this with a double hip pannier, a crinoline and a bum roll.Highly recommend this as a purchase!! No smell or odor and wasn’t pre-used! Fast shipping. Excellent base costume on its own or to embellish yourself!

This dress is extremely high quality and gorgeous. I'd actually recommend the seller raise the price! It's that nice!It looks even better with a hoop skirt underneath.I'm going to wear it whenever I can. My niece and I already have fun little tea parties together.

Almost more Champaign/vanilla color. Going to keep it but will need to spruce it up.

I thought the dress was too big. But then I bought GRACEART Women's Victorian Crinoline Hoop Bustle Cage Pannier (Style-00) to wear underneath it and that filled up the dress. Exactly what I was going for. People thought I was part of the cast of Hamilton and/or getting married. Very happy with my purchase. Looking or another reason to wear it lol

I ordered 2 sizes larger since I have a rectangular (maybe keg shape) and it looks great! You definitely need a hoop skirt or cage slip.

I was surprised that so many details in the pic are actually add ons. And you will need all the undergarments to make it hang right. And it still won’t. But if you go up a size you can get it altered to fit better.
