It is a nice toy, but limited in play-ability lifespan
This is a really nice toy, but it has a very short life span in terms of playability and the current price of £30 would be reasonable if it did just a bit more. For a start, unboxing is a unique one off experience. The penguin comes to life when you remove packaging. It is dirty and starts crying, so the first task (and the only time you get to do it) is to clean it. Wet the cloth supplied and sponge off the water soluble paint marks on the penguin. The penguin becomes contented, but you then need to clothe and feed it. Each time the penguin will prompt you with noises like shivering and the colour changing heart. A hat and scarf is provided to keep the penguin warm. When hungry you feed it a fish by placing the supplied fish inside the mouth and with some noises and a little imagination the fish is eaten. Keep repeating this to get some rather amusing noises of air being expelled from above and below. You need to look after the penguin by repeated feeding, hugging, tickling or rubbing parts of the body and letting it sleep. After a few days my daughter lost interest in this and hasn’t been played with since. Whilst it is an interactive toy, is bright colourful and fun to start with, got some movements to help with the illusion of it being alive, but it is limited in what it can do and doesn’t really have a lot to justify the price tag.
