Aunt Nellies Cabbage Red Sweet & Sour

This is good as part of a salad or as a side dish

Aunt Nellies is my go to to complement any pork dish I prepare. I have actually snacked with it rather than downing lots of potato chips. From one jar to the next, there is always a consistency you look for in any food product.

I use this in my borsch. It is way more expensive on Amazon. If you can find it in your local grocery store, I would by it there. I live very remote and don’t have many options to shop. That is why I bought it on Amazon.

Love this stuff. It is reminiscent of German red cabbage---sweet & sour and very tasty. I use it as an accompaniment to sandwiches instead of cole slaw and regular white saurekraut, I put it in salads, and I also put it into a frying pan with some ground turkey to give me the illusion of stuffed cabbage. Not too salty; adds rich flavor wherever I use it. A little pricey per jar, so look around for deals.

Can't seem to find it where I live, and it's become a tradition.

Worst experience ever. Order included 2 jars of red cabbage and when we opened the first jar there was a worm at the top of the jar. Decided to throw jar away and consider it a loss and open the second jar. Second jar had two worms in it and they were still moving!! So much for our German pork chops and red cabbage dinner - YUCK!!

This is truly the best canned red cabbage out there. The other brand I have tried, which is supposedly “authentic German style”, is very coarse with thick chunks. Aunt Nellie’s is chopped fine, not chunky, and has a much sweeter flavor. Only kind I will serve with Danish food

I loved this stuff growing up and hadn't had it in many years. It was just as good as I remember. ❣️
