Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4.0-5.6 IS USM Lens (Renewed)

I bought this lens to replace the 18mm-55mm lens that came with my Canon 700D.I haven't taken it out yet. I've only taken a few test shots of some storm clouds that came over yesterday evening with it, but it's good.

Bought it for a spare camera but very rarely used. Zoom stuck on 17mm. Will avoid so called 'renewed' products in future.

I use the lense on my canon m50 with an adaptor ring excellent af perfect reproduction and excellent micro. Zoom is excellent. A brilliant lense would advise any body to buy. Joins my lenses. 100-400 zoom. 700-200 2.8 zoom. 85mm 1.8. 400mm prime lense. 70-300 zoom. 50 mm 1.8. 18-55 mm zoom 1.4 canon converterThe purchase of thelense completes my line up. I like this lens very much - I have had one previously which gave good results. On my APS-C camera it gives a similar focal length range to my 24-105 lens on a full frame camera which it makes it ideal for "walk around" use. It was described as refurbished and I wholeheartedly endorse that description. Very satisfied.

This was a replacement lens for a previous (identical) lens that had served me well for a long time. My order was delivered very quickly and the guaranteed [refurbished] product is rather better than what I had expected. A first rate service and I recommend it.

This is not a criticism of the supplier, but the product itself. If you want a fully manual lens, this is decent, but the autofocus is terrible. Indecisive and eventually falls out of focus by 5- 10cm. Simply not good enough. EOS 250D Camera body is NOT the problem here as my other lenses focus perfectly with it. Now showing Err 01 and cannot be corrected with contact cleaning. Not recommended.
