This is a preliminary review. I have only had the smart remote a few hours. So after a month or so I will update too.Contrary to the other reviews, I like the remote. You just have to have your expectations correct. I expected instructions to be bad and support to be slow. Translated instructions are never good. With that said, my remote came and was in Standard Chinese. There was no where in the instructions that tells you how to change the language. Fortunately, I stumbled across a video that showed that. You have to unlock the remote then hit the power button 5 times and it calls up another menu screen. Once I figured that out I went ahead with the modification of my factory Jeep key.That job was interesting and is where the caveats are. If you don't know how to solder, and do it well, don't even try. The wire you are soldering on is the smallest wire I have ever seen. Small enough that I had to go get some magnifying glasses to see what I was doing. Just take it to your local car audio shop and pay them the $50 to do the solder job. I am an MECP certified master auto electronics installer/instructor and I wouldn't really want to do this solder job again. I had lock and unlock swapped. Again translated instructions listed the harness as "the lock" and "locked" but it was a simple fix.But once it was done the remote looks great! Even the other jaded car audio guys in my shop were like this is kinda neat! I'm not using the proximity lock/unlock feature because with Jeep you only have to grab the door handle and the locks unlock anyway. It takes a bit of playing to set it up and in a week or so I will update with thoughts and a battery life comment.The unit is pretty big. So if you don't wear clothes that have decent sized pockets take that into consideration. I will add a pix of the unit next to my factory key fob so you can get the idea.All in all I like it so far. It is a bit of a novelty. But, the price is reasonable enough to allow for that. If the instructions and the soldering job were a little better/easier I would give it 5 stars. Just know what you are getting into before you buy.
