Simple phono pre amp
Great simple phone pre amp for amps with no record deck level inputs.

The preamp worked for my turntable, which previously didn’t with a normal Amp.
So firstly, it is simply to use and the sound quality is good, it made my dormant turntable sing! However it was sent without an adapter so initially I couldn’t use it, so that was a pain. But to be fair I got a refund and I didn’t have to return it and I separately I purchased an adapter (£7), so all in all it was a bargain!

Fantastic bit of kit
Plug and play, simple as that. The sound from my record player to my amp was so much louder and it’s reduced the noise too. Easy to fit and nice and compact. I like that this has a power button too, others didn’t.

Made my Vinyl Player come alive!
I got a vinyl player for Christmas and was so excited, but when i plugged it in, unless the hifi was turned to max i couldn't even hear it. Even then, it was soooo quiet. I bought this and as soon as i plugged the vinyl player into this and plugged this into the hifi (Very easy process), it was BOUNCING!There is however no volume control on this unit, not that it matters to me, but i was asked to rate that so I guess i'll give it a 3? As i control the volume with my hifi anyways. This made such a difference and for the price it is an absolute BARGAIN!

Very Disappointing
I had high hopes for this preamp after reading the reviews for this preamp and others on Amazon. It sounded ideal and at a good price so I went ahead and ordered it. First impressions on arrival were good...it was nicely boxed, the instructions were legible in good English and the build quality seemed good...not tinny and flimsy. Unfortunately the problems started as soon as I had hooked everything up. HUGE amounts of clearly audible hiss and lots of clicking and popping...and that was before any record was played. I checked all the wiring and interconnects ....still no good. I changed the socket it was drawing power from. Still the same problem. I then swapped out the power supply for another 12V unit I had. No luck with that either. I even tried three different sets of Interconnects to see if that helped....alas, all to no avail. With a record actually being played the sound was awful... thin, tinny and very artificial sounding. No depth, warmth or presence. Quiet passages were plagued by the hiss, clicks and pops. Just Horrible! The preamp is just not fit for purpose and is being returned.
