Everyone in our family loves this toothpaste. We all have varying spice tolerance levels. I'm someone who grows chiles professionally and I eat fairly hot ones regularly, I think this does have a kick but isn't going to blister or burn you. Our 14yr old can use it and he doesn't eat anything hotter than medium salsa. If you want spicy you won't be disappointed, but you also won't be getting reaper levels of heat. Maybe a 2500 Scoville rating? Jalapeno-type or a little more but definitely not Thai hot. That said, the mint might be what blows you away, lol. The combo of heat and cold is a little like brushing your teeth with Icy-Hot muscle cream, except it tastes good. And man, the clean feeling lasts for hours. Your teeth will be smooth all day and your gums, cheeks and tongue will feel interesting for at least ten minutes. If your mouth is very sensitive, you might want to skip it. If you're looking for something new and exciting to spice up your routine, this is it! And if you really want to knock your socks off, chase it with Listerine.

While brushing your teeth, there's a pleasant burn. It foams and feels like a standard toothpaste. Once you spit and rinse, your first breath is minty fresh, then there's a burn that lasts for a few minutes afterward. So you get clean teeth, a minty fresh feeling, and a nice burn that lasts longer than expected. This is the only toothpaste I want to use for now on. Well done!

I smear this around my baseboards to deter mice, which don't like the smell of peppermint or chile. It works great! For myself, I actually like the taste. However, pest prevention is where this stuff really shines.

I saw this on the chili heads superhot documentary and had to get it. This toothpaste is good stuff. It is spicy and has a great flavor, with the mint and chili perfectly complimenting each other. It left my mouth feeling very refreshed for a long time, more than normal toothpaste. It does not have fluoride which is probably a plus for some people, for me I will continue using my regular toothpaste as well. That said, I love it and will continue to buy it. The packaging is beautiful as well, there has never been a cooler toothpaste. Great idea and excellent execution. 10/10

So to answer the question you're thinking. Yes, it is very hot, but no, it's not challenge hot. If it were a pack of chips I'd call them snackable. Less hot than Paqui's Haunted Ghost Pepper chips, but not by too much. The toothpaste is also extremely minty, much more so than typical toothpaste. The combined effect is sort of like what you get from a really strong mouthwash, although the mint is more pleasant and there isn't any medicinal taste. Afterwords, I had a decent amount of lip burn but that faded quickly. I suppose a less messy brusher might not have that either. Overall, this is exactly the right amount of heat for people who enjoy spice but not so much spice that it turns brushing your teeth into an event.I would caution one thing. You might want to avoid this if you're a shower tooth brusher. Lets just say that being a chilehead doesn't offer full body protection, and leave it at that.

Just like the headline, I love this toothpaste. It keeps my breath fresh, and helps reduce sensitivity to heat/cold. Found it in a hotel and have ordered twice now. I have a tube for home, lake house, and travel kit. Highly recommended!!! Note that the taste isn't for everyone, but it's my favorite!!!

I don't necessarily enjoy spicy foods but after searching for a new healthier alternative, i came across Chilly. All of the sudden i felt very adventurous.It's extremely refreshing and the spiciness was only felt on my tongue toward the very end and didn't last very long.To summarize: I love it. My boyfriend loves it. Even if you prefer non spicy foods, give this toothpaste a shot. The natural antibacterial properties of capseisin had me sold immediately.I have wondered for decades why my dad has cavity free mouth despite his not so perfect habits...Now I'm thinking perhaps there is a connection between him eating spicy peppers every day? I started buying this back before everything had ghost peppers in it, so I was a little worried that it might be too hot, and just a gimmick. Luckily, I was wrong! It does have heat to it, so if you don't like spicy things, this isn't for you. If you don't mind, or like spicy things, you'll probably like this. My wife and I love it, and now it's our go to brand of toothpaste.
