Working great
Good quality and very easy to install. Took two attempts to activate via the app but now it’s registered and operational. Used dielectric unions with brass hex nipples and sprinkler Teflon tape.

Excellent customer service and support.
I purchased the 3/4 inch motorized battery operated water valve about 13 months ago. Also purchased about a dozen water leak sensors. Since I live in the south, my water valve inlet box is just outside my house. I installed the valve and sensors everywhere there is water outlets in the house, sinks, dishwasher, icemakers, water heater, washer etc. A little research work in setting up and syncing the system but not a difficult task, it actually was fun. I tested the water leak sensors and it was really cool seeing the outside water valve shutting the water off immediately. Great piece of mind as my wife and I always shut the water off before going overnight anywhere and now I can complete that task from my phone without going out to the box. I have had experiences with water leaks in my family and occupation and that is something I never want to deal with. I got a small discount on my homeowners insurance too, be sure to check that out. It has been 13 months now with this system. The other day when checking I noticed the freezer sensor battery looks down a few bars on the meter so I replace the batteries on a sensor for the first time. The other sensors battery meters at room temperature still show full. The outside valve was showing a bit lower so I replaced those. I did notice the valve showed off line a few hours later and could not get it reconnected. I called Yolink and promptly spoke with a representative. He requested a short video clip indicating the valve was not responsive and seemed dead. Within several hours I received an email that a replacement valve was on the way. I received it this morning. I was able to uscrew the 4 screws under the valve controller that attach the controller to the valve, this was great as I was able to swap out the defective controller and not have to re-plumb the valve itself...The purpose of this review is to let you know how pleased I am with Yolink products and service. I look forward to many years of service from this system and if I ever need to replace the controller again it seems to be a 15 minute swap out! As Rich Trethewy from Ask this old house says, I don't care what system you get, just get one. I highly recommend Yolink...It works great and they stand behind their products. Thank you.PS, several months ago we had a minor water leak by the washing machine, just a couple cups of water. The system alarm went off and the outside water valve shut. It was a startle holy crap moment when the hub speaker sounded but it was really impressive to see this work in real life.

Peace of mind, especially for homes with older pipes
Works great. Was able to self install after watching a few YouTube videos. Occasionally I have network issues when it comes to opening/shutting the valve but I think that's more of an Internet issue than a product issue. I've used this along with my yolink hub and water sensors to automatically shut off water into the house if a leak is detected.

Good product, tricky install, read my advice
I have numerous YoLink water sensors around my house and finally decided to get this automated valve for peace of mind. I installed it on 3/4" pex pipe using brass Shark Bite fittings. Be aware that installation may be tricky due to something going on with the threads inside the valve. When I first received the valve I tested it manually multiple times and I received State Errors, and the valve would stop turning mid-way. I tested the AA batteries that came with the valve and they were on the low side, so I replaced them with fresh batteries and noticed a difference right away. So first word of warning: make sure you have new batteries in your valve just to be sure it will work as expected. This was surprising as the app showed the battery indicator as full. The first time I installed the valve I had a slow leak from the threads on both inlet and outlet of the valve (see photos). I used ~3 wraps of standard teflon tape (the $1 stuff from Home Depot), and tightened the brass fittings VERY tight. So I cut the pex piping and removed the valve, cleaned everything up and used 6 wraps of teflon tape and so far there are no leaks. Again, I had to tighten the brass fittings very tight into the valve which is unusual. You will see similar feedback from other folks experiencing installation issues due to valve threading. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, hire a plumber who was the right tools and experience to get it right. I'm satisfied now as there are no leaks after reinstallation. My water sensors are set up using YoLink's D2D communication method. This means that if a sensor picks up a leak, it communicates directly to the valve to shut it closed. The communication is done without the hub or internet which is why I went with YoLink in the first place. I see folks with similar systems which rely on internet and power, but what happens if either of those are down and a catastrophic leak occurs? I tested the sensors and the valve closes as expected. I also set up an Automation trigger within the YoLink app to send me a message when the valve is closed so I know that is actioned.I also want to commend YoLink's customer support on responding to multiple questions, from installation related issues to configuration recommendations within their app. Good follow ups to ensure the customer feels satisfied which makes all of the difference these days.

Cheap Insurance Policy
I've been using YoLink for a few years now and I absolutely love it because the software, although technical and unintuitive in sections, is buttery smooth once properly configured. This is my first time trying an automatic valve. The valve body is built like a tank and NPT threads are well machined. I've read reviews from others complaining about trouble with leaks. I haven't worked with stainless before, but I've read it can be difficult to get a tight seal, My plan is to marry it with PVC to hopefully mitigate the leak issue and any potential problems with dissimilar metal corrosion down the road. I'll post update if I have any trouble.Electronics and turning mechanism is encased in tough plastic. Manual turn knob is pretty flimsy feeling plastic; admittedly this feature won't get much use 1because it's a smart valve, but a standard valve lever would have been nice. Battery access is easy and compartment has nice weather proof O-ring seal. Electronics can easily be removed with small Allen wrench and #1 Phillips should you ever need to replace it without removing the valve from plumbing installation. I have not looked at the gears that turn the valve.
