We’ll see if I eventually have the same issues as others with a faulty battery but, for now, this has completely revived the key fob on a 2010 Mini Cooper S, after months of using the ‘hidden’ key to physically lock/unlock the car (only possible from the driver’s-side door btw). No ‘relearning’ procedures were necessary—after replacing the battery, the fob worked again immediately!The hardest part was splitting open the old case. My chrome outer ring broke off years ago so I didn’t have to remove it. Cutting the case is kinda iffy using a utility knife because the shape of the fob makes it hard to hold while cutting, so please be careful not to cut yourself! Best to take it slow and make several progressive cuts along the fob’s seam and it will eventually pry open easily.The next-hardest part was removing the old battery—use a solder wick to remove the old solder and then carefully pry out the old battery while heating each pin, which may still be stuck due to leftover solder. Careful not to overheat the connecting circuits.Soldering the new battery is easy—remember to clip the soldering pins when you’re done because one or both may be too long. Reassemble and glue the two halves of the fob with epoxy. Done!

I thought this was the right battery after much research. Well, it is but there are two types - the "horizontal" one with the tips directly across and the "90 degree" one with the tips much closer together. Based on the reviews, I thought it was the right one. Wrong!!! I had to break the old battery and use electrical tape to hold it together, and then solder it to the motherboard (what a DUMB design, BMW!), and it works, but the key fob won't close now since the battery is too thick. I ended buying another battery for $15 so the $ I sent on this one was a complete waste. I give it 5 stars since I made the mistake but beware!

Not the best but works

bought this for a 2007 BMW #93 328i, BMW in their wisdom made a remote that, when inserted into a slot in the dash starts the car-the remote's battery (this item) is supposed to recharge by induction while inserted into its slot. The fun part is you need to dismantle the remote, de-soder the battery from the PC board (really, is soderted into place), to replace the battery. the holder this battery come in (there are two versions, a 90 degree and a 180 degree version) is supposed to line up with the holes in the PC board, NEITHER of these lines up, I know because after buying the first one, i ordered the second, NEITHER worked so I wasted about $30 buying both, plus my time. This will not work in either configuration, and this seller needs to stop selling these as replacements for this situation.

Battery works great in my key fob! It does need soldered to the circuit board. It's not hard to do.

I knew the terminals would not align but required modification to both terminals. I had to cut one terminal off and solder a wire to it. The other terminal was too wide to allow the battery to lay flat did the case would close. Had to use a small file too narrow the terminal. After all the work the battery did work. In summary there has to be a better choice for the 2011 BMW328i battery.

The battery ran out of juices after 7 years. So this year I decided to give the battery replacement task a shot. It was time consuming to open the key, and a little tricky to solder the tabs in place. But it worked. YouTube Vids on it.If you have a programmed key, you'll need to program both keys at the same time. Or you'll keep having one working and one not.
