Worked well honing out motorcycle bore. Fiddly set up but not an issue.

A small car engine barrels puts it on its limit but it good on smaller engines. Easy to interchange parts and a good storage plastic box

Absolutely perfect for cleaning up engine bores that have sat for a while.Purchased this as I have an engine block that's been machined and sat around for ages, and one of the bores had some stubborn surface rust that wouldn't come off with a nylon abrasive brush spun in the bore.Bought this, assembled it with the long arms and large stones. Removed all rubbish within 30 seconds of use.Tips for use:As I've seen other people use it (and some exploded/fell apart) you should only use this on the lowest speed setting on a battery drill (do not use in a mains drill) and lubricate the bore and stones thoroughly with wd-40 prior to use, and in-between passes.

I bought this product due to the bargain price and availability of replacement parts. In use it feels a bit on the flimsy side, but it gets the job done. I think that the arms that hold the stones would be better if made from a thicker type of steel. The real downside for me is that when the larger set of stones are assembled onto their legs, they cannot fit into the carry-case! To get it in would entail extracting the three split-pins and taking it apart again.I think that it will be fine in my home workshop, with only occasional, careful use, but would not stand up to daily professional use.

Very easy to setup quick and effective with locking pins, tool fit great in any standard drill and within half an hour the tool has completed exactly what it was purpose was to horn a cylinders walls on car engine. The quality of the stones are great and work as expected.

Cheap and it shows very nearly damaged the bore due to the abrasive stones spitting out of its holder, I would not use this on anything your not prepared to throw away. Mine ended up at the bottom of my bin

Got the job done, cheaply and simply.I'd been meaning to buy a honing tool for years, and finally really needed one, so just bought this.It worked fine, and did the job. Perhaps a bit on the flimsy side, but nothing fell apart and it's good to go for another few engines yet.Money well spent, although I'm keeping my eyes open for a more robust ex-trade unit.

Arrived on time as usual for Amazon Prime. The Hone kit covers most things by the look of it for the Home Mechanic. The kit box is well made and the actual Hone tools themselves appear to be of decent quality. All in all it’s a good kit certainly enough for my use. Will be using it later in the week. As it’s a Sealey product I have no doubt it will be capable to do what I need it for. For the price I would not expect it to be industrial quality , however it’s more than adequate for home use.
