The mat is the perfect addition to my bathroom's halloween theme. The mat is thick so water doesn't get everywhere. It lays flat and is not slippery when stepping out of the tub/shower. Reacts to water just the way the item is described.

I got this for the pet water bowl, one of the cats loves playing in the water and I was hoping to get bloody paw prints. Of course the cat has not obliged that request, so I am still waiting.The mat is decent thickness and absorbs the spilled water quite well. It also hold the bowl in place so the dogs can’t push it around.For this mat to change colors, I think you have to “prime” it first. The first couple of splashes were a dilute red, but now it’s fairly bright. Maybe wipe it down with a damp cloth and letting that absorb before putting it to use?Anyway, I sprinkled a few water drops on it and it captures the water spatter details pretty well. The downside to this mat is that it seems to stain. In the attached photo you can see what the water splashes look like by the dog bowl. The area at the bottom of the photo is where I wiped the mat with a damp rag to show the permanent staining “rings”. When dry, those rings are a light brown tint, but as seen in the pic, they’re like the Internet and never got away.

I bought the mat essentially as a Halloween decoration, but it was horrible to actually use and I ended up taking it out of the bathroom after a couple of days. It really does make the water look like blood which is fun initially, but the the water does not evaporate off of this mat. It just sits on top until you wipe it up. And after that, when it does dry, there were reddish rings from all the old water spots that you can't remove so it looks gross and dirty. And a reminder, I only had this in my bathroom for a couple days and it already looked this bad. Picture included.

I guess this is better than stepping on the floor, but it's about as absorbent. The color didn't turn red, but pink, and seems to keep rings on it after use. The rings may be due to the mineral content of my water, but it looked nasty pretty quickly. I'm really disappointed about how little water this thing absorbs, as it feels like neoprene from a wet suit. Water stays on top for quite a while and can even re-wet your feet if you've already towel dried them. The weak color intensity is also a disappointment, but I ended up just giving this to my brother because I didn't want it anymore.

This was a "gag" gift for my son's girlfriend. She's a horror nut. She was kinda bummed when she first opened it, thinking it was just a bath mat. That is until she took a shower.....

This mat works exactly as advertised. I heard of this mat in the past and have been trying to find it and finally found it. Love this mat, definitely recommend it.
