Philips 40w SES Oven Bulb. Genuine Part Number 00057874 [Energy Class F]

Last longer than the cheaper, unbranded versions.I've just reordered.

Worked fine in my Bosch double oven. I've had to replace the bulb twice now in about 2 years, which seems rather too much. The first time was after only a year, and that was the Bosch-provided bulb. The second time was one of these. So although they don't last very long, I can't say that this cheaper replacement bulb lasts any less than the approved Bosch bulb. So why pay more?They're a real pain to change, because of the glass bulb cover which is an absolute bear to get out. So much so that they sell cover removal tools. Ultimately I did it with a large pair of adjustable pliers, which I used to grip the handle and then applied a light but constant rotational force, just to get it to move the first little bit. Obviously you have to be a bit careful because it's glass and you don't want to break it. But I've done this twice now, both times resorting to pliers in the end, and I've not broken it yet.

I bought this item to replace a bulb in my oven.I really suggest

The bulb is absolutely fine, and works perfectly in my Neff oven. Installation is as simple as screwing in a lightbulb. The only issue is getting the cover off in the oven, but that is simple once you buy the additional tool.

The bulb itself is easy to put in/take out, it’s the cover which is a bit of a pain in the arse. Did the job it was meant to (ie light up the inside of my oven!) but has only lasted 6 months which is rather annoying.

New oven bulb fitted and working

When order arrived I found that the Phillips oven lamps ordered had been substituted with Crompton oven lamps. Despite this I decided to keep them as thought they would do the job.The bulb did last a year but on removing like other customers I found that it ‘blew’ then fell apart leaving the screw part of the bulb still in place and very difficult to remove. Unfortunately I bought 2 of them but won’t risk using the second one.

Disliked that the bulb failed, great that the new one worked.Came on time, even though package was damaged. Lucky for me bulb still worked.
