It works to deter foxes, and what a great price.
I have literally entered into a battle of wits with the local foxes who have been digging holes in my garden for a year now. Having 2 dogs I need to be careful to deter the foxes but not upset my dogs at the same time. I have tried the ultrasonic with flashes lights, which clearly didn't bother my dogs. This did seem to work for a couple of weeks, but they must have learned not to be worried by it and the digging recommenced. I really didn't want the hassle of a hose pipe as they always seem to leak. Then talking to a neighbour he said he was using a motion detector sprayer which kept his garden fox free. So I bit the bullet and bought this and behold, it works. From day one - no digging. This looks exactly the same as my neighbours kit, which was much more expensive. And his leaks, this doesn't. Although after reading the reviews I used plumbers tape everywhere when putting the unit together, which is a sensible precaution. I had to adjust the sensitivity as it was initially firing off every 10 minutes (which I think was moths flying past the sensor). But I set it to around half and that did the job. I am a light sleeper with the windows open and so far I have heard the unit fire off 3 times during the night. So noise is a downside to this solution, basically it is a sprinkler, so makes a sprinkler noise for a few seconds. The other downside is this unit is in my front garden so to avoid guests or the postman getting wet I switch off the tap in the morning, then walk towards the unit which fires off a little and set the sensor to 0 - which switches it off. I then have to do the opposite every night. Quality and build-wise it looks and feels exactly the same as the more expensive unit. Plus you get a 2 year guarantee. If you want to deter foxes this might be the solution for you.

Works well.
Only got it today, but has already done the job. It takes a little while to get the settings just right and the instructions whilst adequate, could be better. It does appear to leak a bit, which is disappointing somewhat. I will update in a month or so.Cured the leaks with PTFE tape. It really, really needs an on/off button/switch for when you are in your garden. You can turn off the water, but it will continue sensing and clicking, which gets to be quite annoying.

It lasted a month.
I bought this for a gift of a price. Easy to set up and quite effective. It stopped next doors cats pooping on my flower bed. However, after 4 weeks it stopped working. I replaced the batteries and still nothing. So I guess I'll spend a little bit more on a reliable product.

Effective but leaky
Works to stop deer eating the roses, but leaks from the fixings

Excellent product. Does what it says!
I had foxes coming into my garden every night, digging up the plants and messing on the lawn. The final straw was them chewing the headrests on my hot tub and coming down to find four pool inflatables punctured and covered in teeth marks.I bought this as I was at my wits end. I had tried numerous other methods meant to repel goes and cats and had just about given up, when I saw this! For the price I wasn't expecting too much, but, honestly, this is brilliant.I've had it in my garden for 3 weeks now and not a sign of fox or cat.I turn it off every morning and on again at night.Only possible negative I can give it is that I sometimes forget to turn hose off before walking down the garden, and, also forget I have the repellent, and not only get a shock from the loud clicking as it starts firing at me, but, also get a good soaking.I'm 71 and I can honestly say I never knew I could move so fast.I recommend this to anyone.

Great product !!
This has been excellent with keeping cats out of the garden. It’s not high quality but treated with care it’s fine. It does need a bit of plumbing tape at the joints to prevent leakage. But over all I would highly recommend.

Effective, low budget cat deterrent
I have a new neighbour, who I will refer to as "mad cat lady". She has 8 cats. Yes you read that right. Eight. I've never liked cats, and I especially don't like them hunting in my garden in nesting season, as I have welcomed blackbirds, bluetits, sparrows, chaffinches, wagtails and occasional goldfinches, collared doves and others to my little wilded environment. "Mad cat lady" suggested I spray her errant invasive species with a water pistol, but I have never been able to get close enough before they run away. And I don't have time to sit looking out of the window waiting for them to show up and murder the innocent indigenous wildlife. Hence this purchase! I have to say it was utterly hilarious watching her previously bold feline friends get totally drenched and humiliated the moment they popped their fluffy heads above the parapet. I bought 2 units to cut off their preffered access routes over the wall, and the motion detection is sensitive enough to trigger an arc of water from 10 yards away. Careful placement is necessary because if you have tree branches or other foliage waving in the wind then they will trigger constantly. They are made of fairly lightweight plastic and this is one reason why they can't be left outside in Sub-Zero temperatures, or they will crack. But the sensitivity dial on the back of the unit is very intuitive, and the batteries seem to last for a very long time. Perfectly usable through the spring summer and autumn in the UK climate, and after a few drenchings all but the stupidest cats will have got the message. NO ENTRY! Not all of my neighbour's 8 pests are blessed with intelligence though, which meant I was entertained for several days by the intrepid slow learners being ejected three or four times a day before they finally gave up and stayed their side of the wall. I would happily pay twice the price for a version that had brass or other metal construction, and so could be left outside 365 days a year. But at this price I still think they represent pretty good value, and I bought a third unit for my girlfriend's Dad.
