Great results.
This stuff is great. Used it to spray a light fitting that started off in a gold colour, I then went directly over it with this spray, no primer etc as it wasn't necessary for this item, but it covered really well with two coats. It would have probably done it in one coat if I was a bit more liberal with the spray the first time round. It's a great colour, does look like gunmetal, and it dries quickly and gives great results.Remember to turn the can upside down and spray for a few seconds when you're finished with it to clear the nozzle out so it's not all dried up the next time you try to use it.

So easy to use - transforms old items
This standard lamp was many years old and was a blackish colour with a bit of verdigris. If you follow the instructions, it’s so easy to transform an old metal object to a something fresh and new. This is much more silver than gold, and not quite champagne, but it’s still a lovely finish, especially if you do several very thin coats a few minutes apart. Dries extremely quickly. Expensive because one can covers very little and a lot is wasted if you are spraying something like this lamp which isn’t solid. I think I used half a cannon three quick coats. You need to move constantly around the object keeping 30cm away all the time. If you go too close you’ll get drips. I’d never use it indoors as a light film of spray covers an area several feet away from the object. Also important to wear a mask. I’ve used several colours of this make and it’s all good.

Mirror Effect Glass Splashback
We were pricing up Mirrored Glass splash backs for my new kitchen that we could fit ourselves. The cost was coming in at around £550 including two electric socket cut outs.We priced the same for Plain Toughened glass and it was around £220.So we bought the Plain Glass and gambled that the Rust-Oleum silver product would work to produce the mirror effect. It worked a dream and I am very pleased. We used 5 cans, which we applied to the rear surface of the glass, in light layers, building up a layer every 20 minutes. The Glass to be painted must be extremely clean and Dust and Grease free.We applied a coating of hardener paint 24 hours later to protect the Rust-Oleum surface, once that was dry we glued the Glass Mirrors in Place. It Worked Perfectly as long as you are very careful at all stages of the job.Total price under £300 including Glass, Paint and Mirror Adhesive.

Brilliant Adhesion and easy to use
I primed a large interior trim section of my car and used this which has adhered really well and looks like it has come out of the factory with the trim like this so a fantastic result, my only negative is that even after a huge amount of coats it’s not as dark as I would have expected for gunmetal, it’s more a sparkly silver grey, so if your looking for a true gunmetal colour, unfortunately this is not it.

Good on glass, not good on wood.
I have used this product twice: once to paint three large rough-textured glass baubles by Nkuku, and once to paint plain maple/beech wood beads. It worked very well on the baubles, not so well on the wood. The baubles were a transparent turquoise and I wanted an opaque silver mirror finish. I taped up their hanging loops and pegged them onto an outdoor washing line to spray them. One coat made them silver, two coats made them opaque and shiny, and three coats gave them a lovely bright mirror finish. On the smoother parts of the glass, there was a true reflective mirror effect. The paint dried very quickly, covered the baubles evenly, and left an impressive tight finish, even when I sprayed too much and there was some run-off/dripping, it still dried evenly. There was no colour transfer at all after they dried. I wasn't using it to create a perfect flat mirror, so I can't testify as to how well it functions for that purpose. The wooden beads required 7-8 coats in order to leave a solid silver finish. The colour transfers terribly, even days after air-drying thoroughly. It doesn't weather the lightest scratch or scrape. In fairness, the product isn't designed for wood, but I'm just confirming their diagnosis! Two final notes: 1. The can drips a bit, so use it over newspaper or similar. 2. The paint gets all over your skin if you're not covered up properly when using it, and on my fair skin it was totally invisible until I washed it off, so I didn't know it had happened until hours later. Be very careful to cover up and wear suitable goggles/mask.
