Does exactly what they claim!
Let me first say that I have been auto detailing for 27 years and I have seen products come and go. Some good and some bad. One thing that I always hated was the "claying part" for many reasons. Clay is too hard, clay is too soft out of the package when you get it. Plus, if you drop the clay you are using on the ground, you need to throw it away and get a new bar to use so you dont risk scratching the panel you are working on.You can forget about all those things I just mentioned! Griots listened and solved all those problems. A synthetic piece of clay, that when it becomes dirty from working the panel or you drop it on the ground by accident, you can just rinse it off and go back to your work without any worries about scratching the paint on the panel! Sounds GREAT, but does it truly work?Yes it does! It might be slightly pricey ($20 ish) but it does exactly what Griot's claims! Not only can you just rinse it off if it becomes dirty or falls on the ground, they claim it can do around 20-25 cars. I have used it on 3 full cars so far with excellent results! It is easier to use than regular detailing clay and in my opinion, it works better as it does not take as long to do a full car. I will update this review once I get to do 20-25 cars and see if it follows through with Griot's claims! The only negative one might say is that it is pricier than regular car clay and some people will be turned off due to the price. Do NOT let that part fool you. I dropped the clay on the ground several times while doing some weekend detailing and claying and just washed it off and went back to work! Normally you would have to throw conventional clay in the trash so you dont risk scratching. NOT this clay! It also cuts down on time as it is easier to use and you still get the results you would expect. What a GREAT product. $20ish spent on it and the results are much higher than even I expected. Totally worth the money.Next time you need to clay a car, strongly consider buying this particular product and come back to this review and give me your take on this new type of claying!(In NO way was I given this product for free, I paid the retail price and NO I am not affiliated in any way with Griot's) Griot's can send me a few of these if they want now if they have someone reviewing posts here on Amazon. LOL) My only "wait and see" for this product is if it really does do 20-25 cars.I wont hold my breath on that one though! But back to topic....I would give this 6 stars if I was able to! I literally NEVER write reviews of products I buy on Amazon, whether good or bad the item is. So this synthetic clay by Griot's is truly some "next level" type of claying that is extremely effective.

Did the job with ease
Ok, so first of all, I am NOT a car detailer nor to I pretend to know the best products for cleaning your car. Also, I live in the country and am NOT a fanatic about keeping a super clean vehicle because between dust, bugs or road film only one store trip and the car is dirty again. BUT, I decided to wash and put some protectant on my vehicle. After washing twice, I could still feel the hood (especially) had a rough feeling. I did not want to put wax or ceramic coating on top of that. After investigating, I see many use "clay" to remove contaminants, but did not want the expense or take that amount of time to resolve. So, I tried this product. The subsequent wash using only light pressure on the hood and it removed all the whatever was on there making it feel rough. Very happy !The "fanatics" probably would disagree and say you need real clay bar. Don't care, this worked great. Would / will buy again.

Griot's synthetic clay is fantastic!
It works exactly as claimed. My white civic is white again!!! I used detailer spray as well as car wash soap and both results were the same. Excellent!

Easy to use
I take good care of my car and I have always used traditional clay bar on my car. I wanted to compare this to the traditional clay on how it worked. So I first hand washed and dried my car. Then used this synthetic clay bar on the left side if my car hood and then used traditional clay bar on the right side of my car hood. I was impressed with this synthetic clay. It's easier to hold on to, you don't have to kneed and stretch it and fold it while using it. I used Mequires detail spray for the lube. I accidentally dropped it and all I had to do is rinse it off and continue using. With traditional clay, if you drop it, it's done and you have to get another piece of clay. Both sides were equally clean and smooth and ready for polishing. I don't know how long the synthetic clay will last since this is my first use.

I initially thought this was snake oil......
but, after using it once, I find that it's much better than conventional clay. Yeah, I know you can save *big* money by using plumber's putty..... and the clay (and the PP) can leave residue along paint protection and moldings.... and this does not. Did a commendable job. I have two black cars.... one's the size of Texas and the other is smaller. This goes much faster on the large barge without the hassle and worry of getting embedded debris in it and storage is much easier (put it back in it's package). It's expensive, but it did manage to take out all the left over clay from previous clay work... which, in and of itself, made it worthwhile.

Upgrade your old clay bar!!
Definitely recommend! So much better than old school clay bar that you have to keep flipping and adding lube, with this you can use it while washing your car and just rinse it off even if you accidentally drop it. I had all sorts of contaminants from the highway imbedded in my paint and this removed all of it with ease and I finished in half the time it would have taken me with traditional clear bar process. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to take care of their vehicle and prolong their paint.
