Charles Worthington Colour Plex Glowing Grey Shampoo 250ml

Does not leave purple colour to hair or hands

I’m normally pleased with Charles Worthington stuff on my hair, but this one unfortunately didn’t suit me.The colour effect is pretty good and that’s why I’m giving it four stars nevertheless. Out of the bottle it’s a deep blue with a hint of turquoise, a variant on the purple shampoos I’ve tried before but seemingly working on the same principle, sympathetically upping the contrast on the colours in a subtle and natural way that definitely takes the edge off. My hair is at the ‘silver fox’ stage (I like to think) rather than full grey but I can still notice it turning a little more striking straight after this, but only if I use a non-intrusive conditioner.Unfortunately the conditioner is an essential for me when I use this, because I don’t like the consistency of it. It’s one of those shampoos that has a glue-like texture, that isn’t immediately evident when you pour it out, but which starts to thicken as you rub it in, almost like a hardening paste. It leaves my hair feeling unnaturally sticky and clumpy in a way I’m not keen on, and my scalp doesn’t seem to enjoy either. Conditioner is needed to sort out the overall feel of it.The scent isn’t the nicest for a shampoo either, and despite the rather nice colour, the overall feel of it is just too unnatural and chemical for my liking.For other hair types I think it will do a fantastic job, but it’s not quite the right fit for me. But I do like the colour.

Good product only thing is that I used to buy a different one, that is now very expensive to import. Although this product is ok, the other left my grey hair feeling lovely and soft; more that this one.

Shampoo and conditioner arrived faster than expected. Couldn’t get the product in US and used the product while traveling in Ireland. Makes my hair shiny silver.

The shampoo foams into a rich lather quickly, and has a floral scent that I find pleasant. My hair is naturally silvery grey on top and dyed silver in the lengths, and it has all been equally left sparkling & glossy, and non-brassy.At first I mistook the increase in gloss for product build-up and grease. But after a little while of use I've decided that despite the glossy appearance my hair is still clean for around two days after being washed.Whilst that's not bad considering my long, thick hair it's not great, as with some shampoos my hair can go three days between washes. I suppose that being made to protect hair colourants naturally means that the shampoo will be more gentle then others, but I prefer my hair to feel fresher and tingly clean. I do think that I'll be likely to rebuy this though, for use in the run-ups for big nights out - the increase in sparkle & glosses that intense.I tried washing my hair without the matching conditioner; whilst my hair was clean and shiny, it was also knotty, and slightly frizzy. My hair also still felt a bit rougher then usual too, so I think that you need to use the matching conditioner for moistrizing the hair after cleansing it.

Nice packaging. My only complaint is that it makes my hair greasy within 24hrs
