This product (GaN 717) is promising and worked a couple times charging at full power using Anker’s 140 watt cables. However, it stopped working shortly after the return period after only a handful of uses. Left me stranded without a charger on a trip as well.I usually like Anker products but this one is faulty. Hopefully they stand by it as it is an expensive paperweight now. I have tested with multiple outlets, high end cables, and devices including Anker’s 737 power bank. All show now charge, no voltage. The cables work with all other chargers as to the devices.

As countless other reviews have stated, this particular unit from a favored manufacturer unfortunately doesn’t deliver.With less than six months of use this power adapter has bricked and no longer delivers power upon plug-in. Really surprising because this company is one of the best and I’ve invested thousands of dollars in their products over the years with no complaints. This is the first and only ANKER product to fail me and it appears from the reviews that numerous others have had the same unfortunate experience.Do not buy this ANKER product.

I'm pleased to report that after reading this review, AnkerDirect reached me and offered to refund my purchase. They didn't ask me to write this update or otherwise condition the refund whatsoever. So, I felt it was important to provide this update. I would say this really firms up my opinion of Anker, which was a company I liked up until this unfortunate failure. Now, without requiring that I jump through any hoops they've made it right. I'm satisfied and feel that while sometimes things go sideways, what's important is how we get back on track. Anker has performed well in this situation and I'm glad to share this. I hope others who experienced these failures had the same outcome. The star rating for this overall purchase experience would be a 4/5 now due to the excellent customer care. The one star is remaining since that is supposed to be for the product itself, which I now realized is out of production perhaps for good reason.Well, this is a disappointment. I bought this because I trusted the Anker brand and I'm among the many who have been let down outside the return window. I rarely write reviews because I'm easily pleased and when I'm not I can usually chalk it up to a cheap product where I at least got a breakeven value before the failure. In this case, I rarely used it and it failed within 6 months. It wasn't inexpensive and I will now need to find a replacement other than this brand and model. You've been warned!

This charger is awesome. It can fully charge my Samsung S21 Ultra in just over a half hour. It works great on any device I've tried, even older devices, without damaging them, and they also benefit from faster charging too. For example a old bluetooth speaker takes about 2 hours to charge on it's charger. With an adapter and this charger, it takes 30 minutes. No heat build up. I assume the on-board circuitry is monitoring the power and preventing erroneously charging a device.

Read and trust these reviews before buying.Just like most other reviews, the thing works great out of the box and it's astonishing how fast such a small box can charge your devices. It doesn't take long, usually after the return window for them to quit working though. Mine was working last week and I remembered telling myself not to unplug it from the wall by my bed because if I did I probably would stop all together this time. This is to say that every time I went to plug it in after a while of owning it wouldn't work right away. Flip it upside down and plug it in. Unplug and plug in multiple times until it worked. Unfortunately I needed my block for a weekend trip and when I brought it, it stopped working entirely. Tried it in more than 50 outlets and nothing. A tiny micro amount of power sneaks through not when it's plugged in, but when you open and close the prongs for plugging in. It's a joke a read the reviews and figured Anker would have fixed things by now, but I guess not.

Update: Anker reached out and resolved my issue. Great company.Worked great until it didn't. I use a lot of Anker products and most work great, but this one does not. Stopped working entirely after about a month.

I ordered this to replace the stock charger and have more room in my carry case, it worked great and was able to charge my device with no issue.Out of the blue I tried charging my device one time but it wasn't showing as charging, I tried a different cable that I knew worked just in case it was the Anker 140w cable that failed, but it still wasn't charging. Then I tried the 140w cable with my power bank that and it started charging so that singled out the charger as the problem. Tried plugging it directly into the wall with still no luck.Ended up missing the return window due to a vacation and other things causing distractions.Keeping it at 2 stars for now because when it worked it worked great and the size is perfect, but hopefully Anker can work with me to either get it replaced or refunded since the Amazon return window is passed.

This is the only Anker product I've been displeased with. I'll give it to their customer service team, they replaced my first charger for free when it stopped working, but now the replacement has stopped working. It's a great charger when it works but I simply cannot count on it. Eventually it just stops charging all together.
