Works perfect for my Samsung DW80F600UTS!
I bought this for a Dishwasher Samsung DW80F600UTS/AA. I was a little worried about the size difference (see the photo), but as far as I can tell this replacement is working perfectly for several months now! I'm grateful for this affordable solution because this dishwasher has been nothing by a headache. I have had to repair it more times than I can count.Photo: Left is the original, damaged part. The right is this replacement.

Fixed our Drain Problem
Like others have mentioned, if your Samsung dishwasher isn't draining, and throwing the error code 5E or SE, this little part might be the problem. Swapping this out alone did not fix our issue however, so be prepared to replace this as well as do a few other things. I removed the dishwasher from the kitchen completely and out to the backyard where I could fill it and drain it as many times as I liked without having to mess with it being in the kitchen, getting everything soaking wet. I cleaned out ALL the drain tubes, including removing the case break and cleaning it out completely (also another spot that can get clogged). When none of those things worked, I replaced the drain pump, also available here on Amazon. Despite the old drain pump turning on, spinning, and appearing to work, it wouldn't drain when installed normally. Once I replaced that, the thing finally started draining again. So this part absolutely had to be replaced first, but the drain pump and just cleaning everything out with a hose (yes, just like a garden hose outside I just sprayed the inside of the dishwasher and cleared out all the hoses). It was all pretty gross. Future note, rinse your dishes completely before putting them in your dishwasher. I don't care what Cascade says, or any other dishwasher brand, your dishwasher drain isn't designed to drain anything but water. Any food that doesn't dissolve is just going to get stuck and cause problems. It doesn't help that Samsung designs tiny pieces like this backflow valve that just get wrecked over time and need to be replaced. The job isn't that hard, but there are a lot of screws to deal with. I took our dishwasher apart so many times diagnosing what was wrong I think I could do it blindfolded now. Anyway, at least I didn't have to buy a completely new dishwasher, this should buy me a few more years hopefully.

Hard to believe this tiny part was the culprit.
Bought a used (basically new) Samsung black stainless dishwasher to match our other appliances. Only paid $60 with the knowledge it has a leak “in the front” was all I was told. For $60, I figured it was worth the gamble.Did a lot of research to pinpoint the issue. A few possible scenarios but all led back to this check valve. It’s just a little piece of rubber, that controls the outflow of water to the drain. If it gets brittle, or falls apart, then that’s when the problems start.I replaced this, the front door seal, and used a shop vac to clean out the vents on bottom and sides. All told, I spent $30 in parts to fix a $60 dishwasher- that retails for $600. I’d call that a win.It runs great, unbelievably quiet and leak-free.

Really easy replacement. These do wear out!
The backflow check valve in my dishwasher had become warped over a few years (see picture) and needed to be replaced. All this thing does is help prevent gross drain water from flowing into your dishwasher -- presumably full of clean dishes -- by plugging up a little hole whenever water is flowing in from the drain pump. In the normal direction, when the dishwasher is draining, this guy is pushed out of the way by the flow of the water leaving the dishwasher.Anyway, replacing this was really easy, just needed a screwdriver and a little time. If you're ever planning ahead, you can buy a couple of these at once and put the extra in a plastic bag under the unit, or zip-tie a bag to the power plug (if yours has a plug) since you're going to unplug it anyway when you're working on it.

Fits Samsung DW80F60OUTS dishwasher!
This fit our Samsung DW80F60OUTS dishwasher well. I was concerned at first as it is a bit smaller than the original part, but it still fit and works as expected. No more dirty water flowing back into the dishwasher due to the old warped piece. Great price too! Highly recommend!

Not even close to size.
The one that came out of the diashwasher is about the size of a quarter. This one is the size of a dime. Not even close.

Fits perfect and works great
First and foremost F Samsung for using such a cheap disposable part as a back flow preventer. I was extremely disappointed when I figured out what was wrong and how much of a stupid design it was. That being said, 10 minutes and a screw driver and you don't have nasty standing water in the bottom of your dishwasher anymore.
