Simple wood rasp set
I used these rasps to finish out the handle on a bread cutting board and for a knife handle. They worked well for shaping the material. I would wear heavy gloves when using them. They are great for shaping wood, but they don't have proper handles so they will hurt your hands if you don't wear gloves. They are good for occasional work. I would not use them for heavy constant use.

THIS DID EXACTLY. . .
what I needed it to do. I had a very old one that belonged to my father. I got it as a hand me down back in the '70's and used it for every applicable project. Somehow, it got lost over the years and when I needed it recently, I just bought it from Amazon. Not knowing how well it would perfom, I looked at ones from different sellers before this one would be my choice. This one's very well made - with teeth to the very edge on all sides and has a very nice bite. It's not just a piece of steel that's been poured into a mold then pkgd to sell. The more pressure applied, the more material is removed. It's also very easy to clean.I'm into Bonsai Plants and every now and then I'll find myself cutting off a good sized branch. I often don't like the look of what is left after the cut which sometimes leaves an unnatural looking bend on the branch. Using this tool, I was able to carefully rasp the areas according to my liking that left more of a natural appearance. by switching between extra coarse to the much lighter grit, it's been A LOT easier to achieve my desired effect. Most of my Bonsai are Ficus' and the sap can become very stubborn to clean off. With this rasp/file, cleaning was a breeze - almost like it's been Teflon coated. VERY NICE! After scrubbing it clean, I used a little camellia oil to prevent rust. That's the same stuff used to prevent rust on samurai swords. It's worth the price and it's like a bonus getting two.

Good purchase
Fine 4-in-1 for wood as intended. The files are struck with good symmetry and to edges where expected. My Estwing 11" nail puller had a big spiky bur on outside of paw, filed it down smooth. Paw and file are both still happy.

A Modern Version of an old product
The rasps are the same as I used years ago. I'm pleased with them

The only file you will need.
I purchased this to add to my whittling toolkit, and it's quickly become an essential. The file is made of hard steel, promising longevity with its sharp teeth. What I love about it is the two grades of cut it offers - a coarse rasp for efficient material removal and a more open-tooth file for shaping and smoothing. Both the flat and curved sections of each cut are incredibly useful, allowing me to effortlessly craft the precise shapes I need by alternating between the two. It's without a doubt, the only file I'll ever need.
